I just received a bill from the hospital that was from an appointment I had that my doctor ended up cancelling because the hospital was so busy that day. This was a scheduled procedure to attempt a ECV for my breech baby, after being sent home I did come back 3 days later to reattempt (which didn't work). The first appointment, I was hooked up to the NST for an hour before she sent me home. The first bill is ~$400 and the second is ~$600. Should I have to pay the first bill? I feel like the hospital should take the hit on this one because they were the ones who sent me home!

yes, I would be calling the hospital for sure and complaining, there should be no charge for their scheduling mishaps. If anything they should be greatly reducing it because you did not have anything done.

Yeah I'd be raising hell with that one. If you don't get anywhere with billing or the doctors office (they always give me the runaround), call the hospital/clinic and ask for patient relations. That seems to be the place that can actually get stuff done for these kind of issues.

OK! Thank you everyone! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being too cheap, haha. I called the billing department and they're sending it to another department for review to see if I actually should have been charged.
@LuLu Mom: I don't think they planned on being so busy, the maternity department seems to be hit or miss! I was joking with the dr that it was a full moon because every pregnant woman in the city was going into labor.
