We have had the paint for the nursery picked out since before I was pregnant, and I will get the walls done in the next few weeks. I want to pick curtain fabric next, to set the direction for the rest of the colors in the room, but I can't make up my mind. What curtains are hanging in your LO's room? If you made your own, where did you shop for fabric?

We have these curtains in our LO's room. (http://www.target.com/p/eclipse-light-blocking-braxton-thermaback-curtain-panel/-/A-11145690) They aren't particularly pretty, but we really wanted light blocking curtains and from experience, the darker colors block out more light than the lighter colors.

I made these from fabric purchased at Joanns. They don't do anything to block the light, but that hasn't been an issue since DD isn't sensitive to the light and we have blinds.

@jojepie: Those are really reasonable! I definitely want light-blocking for the nursery (I sleep so much better in a dark room), but I haven't decided whether to buy blackout lining or to double-hang blackout and regular curtains.

I don't have any pics, but we have a grey blackout roller blind from ikea to block the light, and then white voiles over the top. Not very inspiring in terms of colour, but another option if you want to use normal curtains!

@lady baltimore: If you want light blocking curtains that are cute there are more to select from on the Target website. You can search for the word "Eclipse curtains." Most of them are solid colors but maybe something will catch your eye. Our LO's room gets a lot of light even with the blinds closed, so the curtains are a nice addition for us.

I bought mine from World Market. They are white smocked curtains. Love them for a little girl's room/nursery!

@Jojepie @Lady Baltimore those dark blue blackout curtains are very similar to what I bought for DS due in Aug. I actually found mine at Tuesday Morning for super cheap - they are not quite as dark as those from Target though, I'd say a deep blue, not navy. I don't really love the color/design, but I wanted blackout curtains and they work.

I got curtains from Restoration Hardware Baby on sale, they are cream and navy striped. It's a crappy picture.
The rest of the room is gray furniture with cream and navy accents. -
I made blackout curtains for the nursery. I bought online, but found it in a jelly role I bought on Amazon.

My grandma made curtains in DD's room. I bought basic ikea curtain panels and then bought the black trim at a whole sale fabric store. She sewed them together. Hard to tell in the photo but the black parts are little puffy balls.

"Showing" you our nursery curtains would consist of a picture of the curtain rod and the sheers with flower/scroll embroidery (still in the package) on the floor under the crib. We do have a black out shade...

@travellingbee: Yes! They are the same. I don't know why I just said cream and navy, they have a greyish-taupish stripe in them as well. So funny! I hope you got them on clearance too

@CakeLady: cute fabric!Sorry this pic is so dark, but it allows you to see the pattern on the curtains a little bit more. I didn't really need light-blocking curtains since we already had blinds on the windows. I got them at Target and they were pretty cheap... maybe $40 for the pair?

I'm still in the process of making mine (such a labour of love!) but you get the idea... I bought white/cream blockouts and am sewing on the white ruffles which will go all the way to the floor.

Mine are just plain green, so probably doesn't help with choosing a pattern. They're blackout curtains from JYSK.
