@BadgerMom: What kind of maintenance would you like to see? I can take care of it this weekend.

@mrbee: I think we would like to see blog updates (as some bloggers have indicated they have blog posts ready to go) and the return of auto-generated due date threads!

And the concern that the SSL/TSL had expired almost a year ago; so maybe that meant everything was going to expire and eventually disappear. The URL bar doesn't show the site as secure anymore

@mrbee: It seems some or all of us have noticed the following:
    - hellobee no longer shows as a secure site
    - pop ups
    - mobile version not working
    - when the threads switch to an additional page sometimes the posts won’t show until there are 3-4 posts on the new page
    - auto due date boards are no longer populating

Ummm...those are what I can remember off the top of my head. Others may have things to add. Thank you!!!

@MsMini: Auto-generated due date threads? I made all of those manually. I will make some more this weekend....

@mrbee: Thank you for chiming in. Hellobee means so much to all of us. I'm sorry you're having to deal with the trial.

@mrbee: I echo what everyone else has said. I'm so sorry you are going through a difficult time. I hope somehow this community can be of help to you as it has been so many times for so many of us.

Selfishly, I have to admit how relieved I am to hear that HB isn't going anywhere. As others mentioned, this has been my safe space for 3 years now, helping me through IVF, a month in the NICU, brain surgery on my LO, a TFMR and now round 2 of IVF. I honestly don't know if I would have held things together without such a positive outlet. Please know that what you've built here is something unique and extremely special in the world.

@mrbee: Thank you for connecting with us. We are all so sympathetic to your losses and please don't feel like you need to share more of your personal life than you feel comfortable. We understand your need to step away, but this community feels like a ship without a captain. I love this community and that's the only reason I made this post...I don't want to see it end.

    We've noticed the following--
    --site security
-- posts in the help section aren't responded to (including username changes)
--blog posts are lagging even though bloggers say they are submitting them
--hostesses don't seem to have direction
-- The 2017 holiday guides are still posted
-- due date boards aren't being created

It would be great to have yours and Mrs. Bee's presence but, more than that, this place just needs maintainence overall. I appreciate you responding to us. We care about this place.

@yellowbeach: Yah we're not going anywhere! I'm so glad you've found a safe space and wish you all the luck in the world with round 2!!!

@mrbee: it’s good to hear from you! The sign-on security is my biggest issue.
Trust me, I think we’d all rather stay right where we are so I’m sure I speak for many when I say we are happy to hear from you. So sorry you have a ton of...well...awfulness in your life right now. I know that tends to shift ones priorities.

@mrbee: Thank you for saying this. I don't want to go anywhere, I just don't want to lose this place.

@mrbee: Sorry! I guess I just meant “non user” generated! I figured someone was making them since they had stopped coming up! Thanks for coming on and addressing this stuff for the group! I know we definitely understand that you have experienced a huge loss but there was definitely concern building over the future of the site and we all appreciate you coming on and putting people’s minds at ease.

@crazydoglady: Sorry what I meant to convey was, I am working to process what happened so I can be involved with the site again. So I thought I'd try to write a post about it as part of that effort... I'm just a bit stuck and it's tricky because I live where there's no such thing as therapists and the internet isn't so great. But there's a trial hearing next week so I hope that helps break the logjam.

@mrbee: I hope you are all doing well under the circumstances and that you find some closure in the trial. Like others have said, we are here for you.

To echo the sentiments on this thread and the other one, I've found Hellobee to be an essential resource in my parenting adventure. It's nice to have this little community full of thoughtful, helpful people.

@mrbee: It's good to hear from you! I think we're all sympathetic to the hardships your family is going through right now, and no one wants you to open up before you're ready.

I think we're all just concerned that this community that means so much to us will just be gone one day! So glad to see that you guys haven't forgotten us!

@mrbee: Glad to see you here again and I am so sorry for your loss. I recently loss my mom too (also my final parent) and your blog post helped me so much. Thinking of you and Bee. Hopefully you guys can hire the right people to manage the site. I started joining more FB parenting groups and just missed the organized message boards and threads here.... and how the Bees here are somewhat more like-minded in terms of parenting- I was shocked to see how people out there talked about spanking their kids as if it were an normal/OK thing to do (?!!!!) I think it has a lot to do with who you guys are as people and as parents, and the bloggers you selected. It attracted like-minded readers and thank you for that.

Yes and please give us an update of how you guys are doing... not just parenting. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

@mrbee: I'm so sorry for everything you're going through now.

I echo the sentiments above - this community has been incredibly valuable to me in my journey through TTC and now parenting.

@mrbee: I also want to echo what others have said... I think all of us are sympathetic to what's been going on and definitely want you and your family to take the time you need to grieve and heal. We all just love this community so much that we want to see it flourish instead of heading into a state of unknown. Thank you for taking the time and coming on here to answer our questions! I for one us SO SO happy that HB is here to stay!

@Littlebit7: Also thank you for creating the subreddit; I like the idea that it's there as a just in case something happens to this site that's out of anyone's control!

  24. Littlebit7

    nectarine / 2243 posts

@snowjewelz: oh of course! I might make it private right now unles anyone has any objections; it will just go to “sleep” unless it’s ever needed (hopefully not!)

I am so glad to hear that the site is not going to die. I've been worrying about this for months and to hear differently is a huge relief.
