T is 4 weeks old today. We are combo feeding on the breast and supplementing 6ish bottles of pumped milk a day after breastfeeding. She spits up very little when being burped, it's been only a few times. When she is full she usually claps her jaw. But over the weekend M was bottle feeding her and while eating she threw up everywhere. She does not always burp after each feeding. She sleeps in a Rock & Play that has an incline, and sometimes sleeps with a bink. Recently I have found myself being worried if she threw up while sleeping. I'm not sure what to do and feeling anxious. Even though she is right by the bed I don't want her to choke and not hear her. Thoughts?

my LO spit up a lot the first 6 weeks and she slept in our room for 3 months. I always heard her or saw it since she was right by my side of the bed.

Can she not turn her head at all? L spits up ALL THE TIME, including in her sleep, but she always turns her head. She sleeps right next to me, so I'm trying not to be as freaked out, and it helps that she turns her head.

Our hospital does a class before discharge where they go over everything. They drill it into you that the baby will not choke on spit up while they sleep, they will swallow it. They gave more of a reason that I don't recall, but T will be ok.

My baby spits up all the time, awake and asleep, laying down or sitting up. She usually swallows it or it comes out and runs down her face.

Thanks everyone. It's so weird to go from 2x a week appointments for GD to currently in a 6 week stretch until I see her dr again. Since I'm a FTM I have no idea what's normal. And we had to take her to the emergency room then she was transferred to the PICU when she was 3 days old, so I feel like I'm more worried/cautious now then I would have been if that did not happen.
