We have 4 libraries within 20 minutes of our home. There are three different story times we could go to throughout the week (two overlap). Does anyone go to multiple story times? It doesn't seem like you need another card just to attend (each of the libraries is in a different county). I really need some free opportunities to get DS playing with other kids and an opportunity to meet some mommy friends.

Yup, we have gone to several different libraries. Especially during rainy weeks!

Go for it! In the summer, I go to multiple story times just for a toddler friendly activity.

We will once lo is old enough to sit with me and not scream that he cant run all over the place
maybe a couple more months! Our library has storytime every weekday, so my goal will probably be 3 per week

We went yesterday for the first time, and I was nervous about LO not sitting. All the mom's though said it takes a couple times for them to learn the gig. She ran around but when all the other kids sat in the reading area she stood close by and was fascinated by the librarian reading. We'll probably try to go more often since yesterday wasn't a disaster.

@hilary: This gives me hope! I'm super nervous that DS will run all over and I'll have a hard time wrangling him while holding DD who is 3 months old.

We go two or three times a week. The different librarians offer different things. There are other kids that go to them all too that we see all the time.

I have gone to multiple ones in a week before and the librarians all seemed thrilled and not at all put out. Plus, when it's free it is easier to bail without feeling guilty when lo is having an off day, and at least at my library they intentionally over fill the classes because there is never a 100% attendance rate.

I would. We used to do the weekday and weekend ones at our old library. Great opportunity to get LO out of the house.

I would go multiple times too. My library does it twice a week but you can only attend one session per week. Now that we're moving, I think I may be able to do one session at my current library and one at my new library since I still have the old library card (which they barely check b/c they know me by now).

How old are all your LOs? It would be fun to take L to some of the weekend ones, but I feel like she wouldn't be able to pay attention or really care at 18 months? I guess I should just try it and see how she does...
