I had light spotting through most of my first trimester. Spotting is very common in first trimester.

I had a bit of spotting around week 7. They brought me in for an ultrasound immediately and they couldn't even figure out why I was bleeding. She said I could've strained too hard during a bowel movement and popped a few blood vessels. As long as it's not accompanied by cramping, it's *supposed* to be normal. Not like that helps you stress any less, though.

I had pinkish/brownish spotting for a week (7w-8w). I was worried about it so my GP referred me to my local hospital's EPAU (Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit) where they gave me a scan. It showed that there was a little "bruise" where the placenta was forming.

I think this is really common and nothing to worry about but for the piece of mind factor the NHS will give you a scan from the EPAU and it will help put your mind at ease.

I had multiple instances of brown spotting and a few pink. I even had a few small but not insignificant clots. I hadn't had sex before any of the instances and never have any #2 issues, just so you don't worry if those don't apply to you either. Of course I freaked out EVERY time...but after about week 14 I haven't had any other issues.

I had lots of bleeding during my pregnancy, it was bright red and very scary like I was having my period. I had already had a missed miscarriage before with no bleeding or spotting, so with this I went to the er right away. They said it was a bubble in my placenta, lo was fine.

I bled from 6-8 weeks ranging from brown to pink to bright effing red. They never found a reason and it resolved on its own and DS is rockin and rolling in me at 31 weeks.

I bled a tiny bid, like what you described at about 13 weeks. My midwife said it can happen that time because your placenta is taking over and it's totally common. Then I spotted at 18 - 20 weeks every few days, had an ultrasound, found nothing. It was never explained.

I bled in week 5 for a good few days. I'm now 19 weeks and all is well.

I had spotting during both my pregnancies too and everything turned out fine. I had some pretty red blood the first time and I freaked out and went to the doc and he said a lot of women spot during pregnancies. As long as it wasn't a constant flow and wasn't heavy with cramping, he said it should be fine.

Hi cherry bee I see this is an old post but I am going through something similar.. This morning when I wiped there was a bit of spotting and I too poked some tissue inside (tmi sorry) I am 8 weeks pregnant but fell straight after a misscarriage.. I am booked in for a scan but so worried that it's going to happen again :(... What was the outcome for you ? X

I had pretty much exactly what you described at around... 9 weeks I think? A very small few specs of red blood when I wiped. I now have a healthy one month old daughter.

@Angelmummy2014: I know you're asking @Cherrybee: (who had a healthy baby, by the way), but I figured I'd answer too! I had bleeding in week 7 for 3 days (mostly old brown blood, but more than I thought I'd get - not just spotting) and I now have a 19 month old boy! Hope everything is okay for you!

@Angelmummy2014: I bled from weeks 6-10. It was nerve wracking and awful but all is well!
