I was so happy to find the Ergo Original in Galaxy Grey for $80 (£44.99 + 6.50 shipping = £51.49) - that's only 568 SEK, less than half of what the price they sell here in Sweden! I thought it couldn't have been too good to be true because Ergo itself just had a sale on the Options version for $70 (with promo code). I even made a post prompting my fellow EU Bees in on the deal!

Today it came via EMS, registered mail from China. I didn't think anything of it because I know it's manufactured in China. It even came with a cute bunny keychain! I even took a picture.

But then I noticed the box. The pictures are pretty bad quality ... so I did a search. Long story short: it's a fake. Counterfeit!

I found this site helpful: http://thehumbledoula.wordpress.com/2012/06/02/how-to-spot-a-fake-ergo-baby-carrier/

Almost all the tell tale signs are there:
+ The back of the box is different
+ The snaps don't say "STEALTH", mine says "WARRIOR"
+ The warning label is exactly like the fake one on the website
+ The stitching is a little wonky

If you bought this because of my post, I'm sooo, sooo sorry! But I contacted AmazonUK right away and they were really helpful. They filed my complaint and assured me that I'd get a response within 24 hours. I'm actually not worried because I know I can trust Amazon, they've never let me down before.

But to be continued until tomorrow ... will I end up with a free fake Ergo? Will I have to send it back? We'll see!
