Two lovely ladies come clean my house for a couple hours once a month. They work for a company. I'm curious to hear what % of the total cleaning you set aside for gratuity for cleaning people. Please specify whether you hire the person directly or whether you hired a company.

I have a couple come bi-weekly. I don't tip them because it's just them so all the money goes to them. I do double their rate at Christmas.

I have a woman who comes every two weeks. I don't tip her but I double her rate twice yearly as a "bonus"

We have a woman who comes 1x month. She's not through a service. She sets the rate so we don't tip except at christmas

Same as above, we have an individual who comes once a week, so she sets her own rate. I tip her 2 cleanings worth over the holidays and I found out when her birthday is, so I'm going to give her a birthday tip too.

I don't tip. The two person crew changes every visit ( same 4-5 faces). I go through a mom & pop service.

I hire someone directly who comes once a week. I don't tip her - although I think I did a tip at Christmas. My brain's a little foggy right now (baby's still not STTN + daylight savings, ugh), and I'm having trouble remembering what I did at Christmas. Maybe a weeks' salary or $100? I also throw extra work her way when friends or family are looking for someone.

$100 at Christmas. No regular tipping. They come every 2 weeks and it's the same person each time.

We will sporadically leave some extra money ($20 or so) here and there but she works independently so she sets her rate. I also left her extra money at Christmas (doubled rate) and she never even acknowledged receiving it so I felt a little put off/wondered if she knew why I even did it.

We hired someone directly. She comes with one other woman every 2 weeks. We give them a little over 20% tip every time. It is probably too much but they do a really great job and they get it done very quickly. We gave them double at Christmas.

We work with someone directly (she does all DH's friend's houses) once a month. We don't tip her regularly since she gets all the money we pay her, but we do double her rate in December as a bonus/tip

We go through a cleaning company and they send 2 people each time. We tip 20% and I'm guessing they'll split it.

We privately hired two women that set a price for us, they come once a month ( I LOVE THEM ), and i don't tip them. But i've given a bonus at christmas.
