Anyone have any tips or ways they clean their couch without a shampoo vacuum? My couch isn't super dirty but I do want to know ways to clean it to make sure it stays clean. It's just a rough fabric material. What do you ladies do? I want to get a hand held shampoo vacuum but those are kinda a lot of money especially for only needing it for my couch.

I’ve really never cleaned my couch other than a spot clean if something got on it and it’s never looked or felt like it needed it.

Do you have removable cushion covers? I wash those on delicate from time to time and just spot-clean otherwise.

@cyoung: we got a Hoover vacuum cleaner/steamer thing and at first I was mad at my husband for spending the money I think it was like $130 but I use it SO much on the couch, rugs, and recently to get paint out of carpet. If someone throws up or spills anything it works perfectly and I like it for the couch because it doesn’t leave any lines or evaporation spots. Prior to that we tried wipes, spot shot, plain water and it either wouldn’t get the spot out or would leave marks when it evaporated.

@gotkimchi: yeah I talked with my husband today and he agreed we should bite the bullet and get one. We have 2.5 and a 1.5 year old and dogs so I think itll be put to good use.

We have something built for cleaning pet accidents. We have no pets. It has been very useful for potty training. I used it last week to clean vomit off my couch. We've also cleaned the carpet multiple times.
