DD is 23 months and sometimes when I can't get her to nap I'll take her for a drive. She almost always falls asleep immediately and I wait in the car with her until she gets up. I can't believe she's almost two and I still haven't gotten this nap thing down. Mom fail. Anything you can't believe you're still doing?

E is 16 months and most nights she will wake and only go back to sleep if I give her some milk. From a bottle. Yes, my toddler still has night feeds! Ugh.

I still rock to sleep at 17 months. A few times a week he still naps on me.

I am a nap failure as well. I end up holding her half the time and she's almost two. Thank goodness for daycare five days a week. We're in the car in front of our house now waiting out a nap. Hangs head in shame.

I still nurse my 20 month old to sleep every night and all naps on the weekends AND he wakes in the MOTN to nurse.

@Corduroy: I agree! Thank goodness for daycare, in our case it's grandma-care. I don't know how my mom does it but DD always goes down without a fight and sleeps for 2 hours. On weekends with me she almost ALWAYS fights nap! I admit it's my fault since I never nap trained her and on weekends we're usually on the go so she's use to sleeping in the car. DH is stuck in the car with her right now waiting out a nap. It's been 1.5 hours. Sigh.

I rocked my daughter to sleep for each and every one of her naps until she was something like 20 months old. ...and now she's 2 1/2 and back to refusing naps. I think it's safe to say I'll never get the nap thing down.

I still nurse to sleep every time at 18 months. Works for us but some people look at me like I'm crazy when they find out.

Still rocking to sleep at 22 mths although today at nap time she pointed to her crib and asked to be put down right away!!!! Score! But still rocking and patting her back at night. We swaddled until 16 mths.... Don't give urself such a hard time just do what u gotta do to keep yourself sane...

No confession needed! I love car naps! My only confession is sometimes were parked in driveway and I run in and out of the house doing small errands while she naps! Haha

@Applesandbananas: Our boys sound so much the same. We still do these three things at 20 months.
Also, most naps on weekends I lay down with him in our bed or he won't stay asleep. He naps fine at daycare though.

Oh, I could write a book about the things I have done over the last 4 years to get my son to fall asleep or stay asleep. Do what works.

@ALV91711: he sleeps great at daycare too! He actually will almost STTN if I stay in there all night. So most of the time, I just sleep in there lol. He's on a floor bed in his room.

@dolphin: The only way we can get DS1 to take a nap is with a car ride and he's 26 months. He started daycare about two months ago and takes a nap there. WTH?

@Applesandbananas: Whatever works to get the most sleep. If he is having a rough night I just take him into the guest room. That way if he does wake up more at least I don't have to get up. I'm hoping one day he'll STTN on his own!

@Mamasig: Ugh I know! Sometimes I just wished she would nap at home so I can RELAX. Driving around all the time in exhausting! And I can never do the car to house transfer successfully.

@dolphin: Luckily my older son can be transferred. But not the baby - once the car stops he wakes up soon after!
I have wasted so much gas driving him around!
