@Smurfette: Know what's so funny?? I am on a kick to drink TONS of water right now and realized today that might be throwing off my OPKs this week. CD15 today and no smiley yet. I peed on one around 11am after drinking a TON of water - doh - so haven't had a sip since and am holding it til I get home at 5 to pee on a 2nd one.. lesson learned.

So I've decided that I hate OPKs. I tried them for the first time last month and missed it because I O'd early. This time I tested religiously every day this week. I got a second faint line for a few days and then Wednesday it got darker, especially at the edge, but the rest of the line was faint. Then Thursday it got faint again, and this morning I got a temp shift. So was that pencil thin dark edge on the line the positive?!?! I work in a lab, and if we bought a test like that to use, it would be soooooooo unacceptable. I swear, they are just preying on the nerves and pocketbooks of TTC women! End of rant.

Use the digitals!! CD16, hoping AGAIN for a positive today.

@Grace: digitals! They are more expensive but totally worth it!!

Someone please talk me off the ledge. CD16, which the past two months is when I got my smiley. I used one at 7am with FMU and a SECOND at 12:30pm (when I got positives the last two months), and they were both negative, and now I'm considering peeing on a 3rd one tonight. What is wrong with me? We BDd yesterday and likely will again today (and tomorrow) but I've randomly become obsessed and stressed out about this. Please tell me not to use another til tomorrow afternoon...

@JoJoGirl: Is there any kind of line? Or stark white? I would wait till tomorrow. Your body might have just hit the snooze button this morning. Are you tempting? How are your temps?

@Smurfette: they are digitals and not temping

@JoJoGirl: Stress could be causing you to ovulate later than normal maybe? Just wait until tomorrow to test, but keep having sex to be on the safe side.

Well, on CD7 I think my god awful period is finally over. Fingers crossed. I really hope to ovulate sometime around the 4th of July!

I think I'll join in on the fun now.

My estimated O date: June 29

    POAS/AF date: July 13th

TTC cycle: I'm on cycle 14

Trying anything new this month: We bought some preseed and I'm no longer charting. My cycles are like clockwork so I don't really feel like I need to chart anymore. I'm going to use CM to confirm O.

I'm feeling a little hopeful since my husband's sperm motility has improved.

@Leialou: Oooh, good luck with the Preseed! I really feel like it helped us! I hope it helps you just as much!

@Leialou: Agreed on the PreSeed! We used it for the first time this past cycle!!

Good luck to all you July ladies!!!

My estimated O date: No clue, AF didn't show till Wednesday which was 6 weeks after our d&c. FF friend is not helpful since my average cycle is all messed up now. My guess is July 3-6.

POAS/AF date: My guess is AF will arrive July 21st ish. I'm going to try and wait AT LEAST 3 days before POAS.

TTC cycle: BFP first cycle in April, lost pregnancy in May. First cycle after mc.

Trying anything new this month: I'm temping again but also using OPK.

@alison206: so glad you finally got AF! Now you can "move on" a little better, even though I'm not so sure you ever really move on... Anyway it helps with the grieving process

Haha!! Ovulated Day 18, so my POAS date is July 6. I'm enjoying that my cycle is starting to be closer to normal. I think the new job with mostly females is regulating me!

STILL no positive OPK. This is way late for me, I'm starting to worry I missed it. We didn't BD at all Monday-Thursday so I'm really hoping this doesn't mean I'm out this cycle. BAAAAAH.

  18. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@JoJoGirl: You had sex around the days you usually ovulate though, right? You may have missed it if you're usually pretty regular, but as long as you had sex around when it usually happens, you should still be okay. Maybe have sex a few more times incase you ovulate late. I know you said you're not temping, but are you checking your cervical mucas at all? That could be another way to check.

@Jojogirl I've only been able to get positive OPKs on 2 out of 4 cycles so it doesn't mean you didn't O...Adira had a good point, what's going with the CM? That can be a good indicator too...

  20. JoJoGirl

@Adira @Trailmix thanks for the responses

Okay, I'm getting on the TMI bandwagon.

I've never seen EWCM before. It was crazy watery yesterday (like, I thought I peed myself!) so I was hopeful it would turn positive yesterday or today, but no luck. I'm not even sure what EWCM would look like (other than the detailed descriptions on here). Also I tried to check position but I swear, I can't reach it!

The digital turned positive CD15 in April and CD16 in May (today is CD17 I think, depending if spotting counts as CD1). We BDd CD15 and 17 and of course will keep trying this week, but I'm stressed I Od earlier than usual and we didn't BD at all CD11-14 (but did CD10). I *know* I'm being insane and haven't felt so out of control the last few cycles, I just wish the damn thing would smile!

DH suggested we start temping next month for more support since this is making me crazy and we're really bad about BDing regularly M-Th.

Edit: I just realized I wrote above it's crazy late for my OPK and actually, it's 1-2 days late. Sorry for my aforementioned insanity

I'm 2DPO today! I had an HCG trigger shot, so I can't test until after 10DPO. I'd like to test 11DPO (our anniversary), but I'm thinking 13 or 14 DPO would be better. ARG! I've never been able to wait that long!

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@Jojogirl In the spirit of TMI, I've found and read that a good time to find EWCM is after a um, movement That's always worked for me...and if CM hasn't turned creamy, you might not have O'd yet so maybe keep BD-ing??

  23. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@Babybunny Oooooh, so exciting, fingers crossed for you!!!

  24. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Trailmix: SHUT UP. Really?? What is it, the pushing??

Sigh - I guess I'll just hope it hasn't happened yet instead of worrying we missed it. I think I'll start testing 2x/day too. Trailmix what did you do differently the months you got positives vs. the months you didn't? My two positives were at noon and 2pm so I don't know if I should stick to that or switch to FMU and evening.

  25. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@JoJoGirl: If it makes you feel better, I've only seen EWCM ONCE in our six months of trying, which is why I decided to try using Preseed, incase I needed the extra help. And EWCM IS exactly how they describe it - it's like egg whites and definitely stretches between the fingers. Temping probably will be your best bet in the future to know if you've ovulated, but also seeing your cervical mucus go from watery to sticky or creamy is an okay way to tell too.

As far as cervical position, if you're close to ovulating and you've never felt your cervix before, you probably will feel like you can't feel it. The same happened to me because I wasn't trying to feel it religiously. A couple days after I ovulated, I tried again and it was much more noticeable. So you could keep trying to feel for it and once you can, you'll know you've ovulated. For me, the only way I can reach it is squatting (or sitting on the toilet) and using my middle finger to feel for it.

@BabyBunny: Oooh, so exciting!!! I hope you have a GREAT anniversary with good news! But 11 DPO may still be too early to tell. Good luck!

  26. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Adira: Thanks... maybe we should try Preseed too if it's not too late this month.

@BabyBunny: exciting! BFP on your anniversary would be perfect!
@JoJoGirl: I don't get a lot of EWCM either, pressed all the way in our house.

I got my positive OPK this afternoon. Yay for coming a day early this month! DH leaves tomorrow morning till Thursday, so looks like we are waking up a little early tomorrow for a nice going away gift

@JoJoGirl: Have you noticed any post-ovulation symptoms yet? Sometimes I wonder if I have O'd for real and only believe it whem my breasts start hurting. As, for EWCM, google it and look at the pictures. There's a ton of women who have posted their's and it's pretty accurate. Also, I've heard that lots of women only see it by going inside and sweeping with their fingers. And for what it's worth, I'm mad at OPKs too, so you aren't alone. Hang in there!

@Grace: No sore boobs, but only get those right before Diablo. and OOH MY GOD, google images... holy crap! Thanks, that was definitely educational. I'll try the sweeping technique. And THANK for the support everyone - I peed on 3 of those damn things today, officially losing my mind.

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@Jojogirl Nope, didn't do anything differently the months I was able to get OPKs, I just POAS same time every day but for whatever reason, I just didn't get a positive both the second cycle and this fourth cycle...no clue why, it's really frustrating!

So mad! I woke up early this morning, took my temp, and I didn't log it right away. I just clicked it off. Like 30 mins later I turned it back on and I missed my temp for the day. I guess it isn't a huge deal but I wanted to see what it was since I should be ovulating today. I hope I see that big spike tomorrow morning!
