I have friends in Brussels who are expecting their first child any day now. I wanted to send them some baby items that they might not be able to find in Europe—like I ordered them a Wubbanub pacifier because my daughter loved hers and I didn't think they would have bought one for themselves or known about it. Any other ideas? I know you can get pretty much anything on Amazon now, but I thought the hive mind would have some thoughts on this!

Things I had people bring/send when my DD was born abroad: soothie pacifiers (impossible to find when she was a baby, but now some places carry them), Boudreaux's Butt Paste, Boogie wipes.
ETA: maybe some Hanna Anderson pjs? You can't buy them in Europe (unless you order from the US).

Every time I give a baby gift when I have a bigger budget (I don't know your budget, just throwing this out there) I order a quilt from Haptic Labs here in Brooklyn. I see you are from Chicago, they make a chicago baby quilt, and you can personalize it with a little heart where you live. I don't know if they have lived in any other cities other than Brussels but they are others as well.
Every person I have given one to has been blown away. My sister in law hangs them in her sons' nurseries. -

I love all these ideas! Thanks, everyone. I didn't know Hanna Andersson didn't ship to Europe. I'd assumed they *were* European, but I see they're actually based in Portland. And those Haptic Labs quilts are beautiful! They're probably too expensive for this baby gift, especially considering I have to ship a box to Brussels, but I'm going to keep them in mind for future gifts where I'm spending more.
A Make America Great onesie would be excellent trolling. Maybe my friends will send me a Brexit shirt for my toddler in exchange?

Seriously though, we've sent stuff themed around our city and state, a USA map puzzle, and blocks with English letters. The puzzle was the best hit, though of course it had to wait till the baby grew up a bit!

A personalized blanket or some other inexpensive trinket. Personalized anything in Europe is uncommon and usually reserved for old school Christening cups.

@MsInformation: We live in Germany and things that I always brought back from the US were
- big A&A swaddles (you can get them in Europe but they are hard to come by and even more expensive than in the US)
- summer infant swaddles (there are some online buying options but again they are more expensive)
