We just bought our nephew the Cozy Coupe police car and He LOVED it (wouldn't look at any of his other toys, just his new wheels.
DD will be getting a play kitchen, likely KidKraft from Target though I haven't picked the one I want yet.

I bought my lo a personalized happy birthday cd. I had the tape when I was little so its sentimental to me.
It usually depends on the mom and baby for what I give..... One mom friend loves Disney so I gave her a Disney cd for the very young, a mickey mouse book, and a Minnie outfit. I love theme gifts

We kept it under $50 because we're spending $500+ for his party!
We go a green toys recycling truck and see kai run shoes.

We actually did not buy DS a gift since we knew he would receive so many and we have a lot of toys from big sis already. However I would say the cozy coupe that grandparents got him (we received the original red and yellow version) has been a hit.

We bought a puzzle, clothes and books. My brother bought LO a car that she adores and my BIL bought her a baby stroller!
LO has this car in pink:

@prettylizy: @T-Mom: Oooo.... maybe I'll get that for LO too! haha!
I wanted to get a red wagon for him but I just spotted my friend's daughter also has one from the grandparents (from FB pictures). I didn't want to be like a copycat...! I wanted to find a piano keyboard because he seems to be drawn to toys that resembles a piano at daycare or at friends' homes, but the age-appropriate ones all seem lame (we have a real baby grand piano at home lol).

His birthday hasn't happened yet - just another week to go! - so I don't know what he'll be getting. Right now, what we have for him is a really cool shape sorter cube he can take apart and put back together, a pair of maracas, and this huge wooden activity barn. The barn has little bead mazes, turning gears, little tabs that flip, the works. Here's the only online picture I could find!

@irene: I think a wagon is a really popular first birthday gift so I wouldn't worry about feeling like a copycat! Here's a pic of the trike I mentioned above:

We got the Fisher Price little people zoo. He isn't 100% ready for it yet, but he likes to throw the little people and animals good times!

@NaturallyCathy: @Sammyfab: @prettylizy: OMG these are all crazy cool ideas... shoot I hit the check out button too quickly on amazon on the cozy coupe !!! (I am trying to get it to ship here by the end of month as that's LO's 1st bday...)

We got DD a fancy B-day cake, since she didn't care and I knew it would look cool in pictures.
DS turns one next month and I have no idea.... we are doing a combined bday party so a fancy cake is out, because we would have to do one for DD too

@rachiecakes: good to know! Did you get the Radioflyer trike or a different brand? I see a lot of babies/toddlers in my neighbourhood in them and they look like they love them!

@Sammyfab: Ooooh! I hope that's available here!
We're planning on setting up her little play kitchen and some toddler furniture to go along with it. For the kitchen it'll most likely just be a stove and a DIY table next to it (since I don't like the sink that matches). She's probably getting an outdoor swing and a fake baby lawnmower too.

I bought LO a knit Blabla doll. She's little and the doll is huge, so she looks so cute dragging it around!

@Sammyfab: we got the Radio Flyer one. DS's birthday is 12/17 but we got it for him in September so we could take him out to a few outdoor music festivals with it. He really loves it. I can't wait for Spring!
