Hotel: The cosmo. The beds are to die for and the view is out of this world!
Restaurant: Cut for something fancy. Holsteins for an amazing shake and burger
Show: Absinthe and then Mystere
Casino: Any! Not the biggest gambler so I play tables at the cheaper ones

You're going to have a blast! I went to Vegas for my 30th and it was the best night ever!

@MamaMoose: LOL! Well then just ignore that suggestion!!!

Hotel: Cosmo, definitely. We did not stay there but went for dinner (I'll get to that next) and holy moses is it a stunning hotel.
Restaurant:
-Wicked Spoon @ the Cosmo. Best buffet in Vegas, in my opinion, and it doesn't feel like a buffet. It's a lovely restaurant. -Also, Hash House a Go Go @ The Quad. Crappy hotel but oh my gosh their food is good. It's like fancy-casual food... giant stuffed burgers, etc. Yum!

Casino:
-The Bellagio & Ceasar's Palace are fun to walk around, as is the Paris Las Vegas. We don't gamble much, so not much advice there!

Have fun! We've been twice, for my wedding and my dad's, and I love it.

ETA: Mon Ami Gabi, definitely. Beautiful, delicious brunch!

Hotel: Aria or Cosmo
Restaurant: so many choices depending on what you want.
Show: O or Ka are great! Mystere is cheaper but cute as well.
Casino: Caesars or Bellagio or Venetian
Sightseeing destination: Fremont Street, Grand Canyon, or Hoove Dam

Show: any of the cirque shows are good

I've only stayed at NY NY but loved it!

Visit Fremont street & I enjoyed gambling here more, more laid back since I'm not a huge gambler (and buy your souvenirs there, so much cheaper!)

@MamaMoose: are you outdoorsy? We had a ton of fun at red rock park and one other I can't remember... I can find out if you'd be interested though!

I've never been but DH just got back from a work trip and said he was sooo impressed with the service and rooms at the palazzo at the Venetian. And he's super picky

Casino: hmmm I liked MGM and Paris
Sightseeing destination: didn't do much of this.. haha!

I always go to the Bellagio buffet when I'm there. HAHA. There are so many good restaurants in Vegas though.

I really liked the Lion King. I'm not a fan of Cirque. They freak me out.

Hoover dam is less than an hour away!

The M Resort is off strip a bit but it's beautiful and has amazing views. The Hostile Grape, their wine bar, is so fun. Self serve wine! Woo!

hotel:Caesars suite, or MGM
restauarant: B&B trattatoria for dinner, Bouchin for Brunch, Mesa Grill for apps and drinks
best show O hands down! the best cirque show
copperfield is fun too
casino: I like the cheapie ones for table games...bills, flamingo, excalibur....for the sports book and poker I love caesars.
the spa at caesars is awesome too

I'd stay on the strip for sure! We went in 2011, and we stayed at the Rio. I wasn't a huge fan of the hotel, and it was suuuuch a pain to be off the strip. We had to take shuttles back and forth.

Definitely take a bus downtown and go to the Fremont Street Experience! I love Old Vegas, all of the casinos are so old school and cool.

@MamaMoose: I vote for going in a month other than July or August! It's scorching hot then. Though I've been in May and it's a little too cold to be in the pool.

Pretty much right out of an e-mail I sent one of my grads:

Hotel: We stayed at Mandalay Bay, absolutely loved it, the rooms with a view of the strip are totally worth it. We did New Years Eve there, and it was nice to get off the craziness of the strip and watch the fireworks and everything from above.

Restaurant: We are big Iron Chef fans, so we always try to collect Iron Chef restaurants. Bobby Flay's is great for southwestern- we go every single time, Mario Batali has great (and pricey) Italian food.

Show:Beatles Love- best show EVER- it made me feel so happy. We saw O (the water one) too but it turned into one of my more expensive naps

Casino: We seem to have the most luck at Paris and The Palms

Sightseeing destination:
The flamingos at The Flamingo (pretty cool for an older casino too! pretty garden)
The lion exhibit at MGM
The Venice Canals- Phoenician
Treasure Island pirate show
Fountains at Bellagio

Off the strip- Red Rock Canyon, gorgeous park with some pretty hikes, and wild donkeys.

For a price, but worth it:
The Secret Garden
Siegfried & Roy's at the Mirage- dolphins, lions, tigers, etc

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Mob tours- not at all kid oriented, but pretty cool history.

@MamaMoose: I can't offer anything that hasn't already been offered . . . but I can say that the last time I went to Vegas, Pete Rose asked me out to dinner.

Hotel: Only been once but we stayed at the Wynn and loved it!

Show: Cirque's LOVE
Casino: We're not huge gamblers so can't help you here.
Sightseeing destination: We did the Bellagio Fountain show, went up the Eiffel Tower, did the NY, NY roller coaster, gondola ride at the Venetian, Treasure Island show (can't remember the name of it)... We also walked to the LV sign!
