I've heard to only eat warm things in the two weeks after ovulation, wear socks, etc. and to not eat raw vegetables during that time. My acupuncturist has basically said the same thing, so I think that it is a very common rationale.

This reminds me of being in Hong Kong while pregnant and being told by older local ladies that I couldn't drink cold drinks or eat cold juicy fruits because is bad for the womb to be cold....I'm not sure I buy it. That said, it doesn't sound like there is any harm in trying - it might not help, but won't hurt you either.

If you're talking feet, however, there are pressure points on the feet/ankles that supposedly stimulate the reproductive system.

It's an internal organ, in the warmest part of your body. I'm *seriously* skeptical that there would be any correlation, or even a difference in your uterine temperature the way there is in extremities. It's not like testicles that are outside the body. That being said, there's no harm in being warmer/eating warm foods?

Interesting. I'm willing to try anything at this point, so I will try my best to keep my feet as warm as I can and I'm going to drink lots of tea to keep warm. I won't wear sandals to work, socks and shoes every day!

In Chinese medicine, when you are always cold like that, it is considered a sign of a "kidney yang deficiency." I was battling some infertility issues so I started doing acupuncture and was told to do everything in my power to keep my body warm (i.e. wear socks, used space heaters near my feet in my office, take foot baths, only drink beverages that were tepid or warm, etc.). Out of desperation, I agreed to try all of this in conjunction with a cleaner diet and weekly acupuncture treatments and I did get pregnant shortly thereafter. It's hard to pinpoint which change made the difference but I am 14 weeks pregnant now and things seems to be going ok so far (and I'm still sitting here at the office with my space heater blowing on my feet!).

This sounds utterly ridiculous. Like @Torchwood: and others have said, we're talking about an internal organ. When you touch your stomach and it feels cold, you're feeling your skin, not the temperature of your internal organs. I'm calling "old wives tale" on this one.

@faithlove224: This is a common TCM philosophy. My acupuncturist used to focus on warming my abdomen, specifically my uterus during sessions up to and including my transfer for our successful IVF cycle.
