My parents started dating in 10th grade and have been together ever since. Their 50 year high school reunion is next week and I think they are the only couple that's still together. People are always surprised when I tell them how long my parents have been together; I've never met anyone else whose parents were high school sweethearts!

Yes. They started "dating" when they were 12 (aka they had crushes on each other). They met at Sunday school and have been together ever since.

sooooort of? they went to the same high school but my dad was a few years older than my mom (I think a senior when she was a freshman?) and they didn't know each other while he was still in school. They met when my mom was a sophomore and my dad had already graduated and dated my mom's sophomore and junior years of high school, then got married the summer before my mom was a senior in hs (she had gotten pregnant so they got married and my mom finished out hs with classes at the community college).
ETA: they've been married now 38 years this summer! (mom was pregnant with my brother not me)

My parents met in the Army (and are 20+ years divorced now).
My ILs weren't HS sweethearts, but they have known each other since my MIL was born! There's a great picture of my FIL as a toddler pushing my MIL as an infant around in a stroller!

My parents met while they were both in high school, but they didn't go to the same one. They did go to prom together though! My DH's parents grew up next door to each other. They've never dated anyone else. They'll be married 50 years this year.

yes, mom was 14 dad was 15. my mom used to walk home from school and my dad had a huge crush on my mom and would watch her pass by his house on the way home from school. when I read my parents yearbook people wrote congratulations on their engagement (got engaged at 17 & 18). they are still happily married.

@mfa_lady: Awwww, second grade! My dad moved to my mom's town in jr. high but would visit his cousins there when he was little and they all attended the same church. He likes to wax nostalgic about being 6 years old and seeing a raven haired beauty across the pew (my mom). I don't think he really remembers, but it's fun to hear him talk about it.
@babymats: That story is so sweet. It's interesting reading my parents' yearbooks and seeing how their friends referenced them as a couple.

Nope. They met at a meet the bridal party thing. My mom was a coworker of the bride while my dad was a cousin or second cousin of the groom. They're still super close with them about 40 years later.

No, but they were college sweethearts. She was on the volleyball team and he was a basketball player.

Sort of? My mom was in high school, but my dad is 3 years older. They got married 2 weeks after she graduated. Next year will be 40 years for them.

Nope! My mom dropped out of high school to marry her first husband, and didn't meet my dad until her mid twenties (they lived in the same apartment complex, met at the pool), and I think she met future husband #3 on the internet.

Well, they met just out of high school at a Beach Boys' concert. My mom had come with my dad's friend because he needed a date ). Although she had a boyfriend and he had a girlfriend at the time, they both went home and told their best friends "I know this sounds crazy, but I am going to marry him/her". They didn't start dating until months later when they saw each other at a party and my dad dropped her home, gave her his number, and said the ball's in your court. Shortly after that, she called, and now they've been married almost 31 years, together 36.

The other manager at my dad's work hired her as a cashier...when being introduced to her the first thing my dad said was, "What did you hire another cashier for? We don't need another cashier!" Yeah, way to be charming, dad.

Nope, but if they has been it would have rocked Memphis' world. They met in their twenties and this year is their 30th anniversary.

Yes they were. They met the end of highschool. They got married when they were 20 and had me at 21.
However, they are divorced now (my father is gay). They are still very close friends though.

Yep! My mom was 14 and my dad 16 when they met. They married in the fall after my mom graduated. My dad was an airman then so their honeymoon was a cross country trip from western N.Y. to his base in San Diego.
They'll be married 38 years this November.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: same! My mom was 12 my dad was 13. Coming up on 35 years of marriage + 10 years of dating before that.
