I just made reservations at a restaurant on the beach! We have an invite to my brother's girlfriend's parent's house about 2 hours away. Mr. Lime is still holding out on MIL to say she's cooking, but that's a 4 hour drive and we have a doctor's appointment the next day at 9 am. The restaurant is technically a back up, but I'm hoping that's what we end up doing.

one year we were with friends on vacation in Tortola for thanksgiving and had dinner on the beach, it was perfection. We are going to my parents. Small gathering this year which will be nice!

My family is making a trip to visit and my DH is taking the day off so we can have a proper Thanksgiving celebration (our first in several years!) then we will all go to Budapest the next day.

We are having dinner at my SIL's (DH's sister) house. She was nice enough to invite my parents so I will get to hang out with my family and DH's family.

MIL and FIL are coming to our house for the week. It's been a few months since we've seen them, so it'll be nice for the kids to see their Nana and Papa. We are having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

We always go to D's aunt's cabin on the Cheseapeake Bay in Maryland. When D was a teenager someone tried to suggest they hold it elsewhere and he apparently threw the biggest fit about it
I love going there, too, and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. We're debating goint to the National Zoo on the weekend, if the weather is nice. My sisters-in-law are actually also first cousins, and every other year they switch off holidays with their family, so this year they'll be down for Thanksgiving (but not for Christmas). We're hosting my immediate family at our house. My brother + fan are coming from out of state which hasn't happened in a long time.

DH and I are doing something small by ourselves on Thursday, and then I think my mom and a niece or two are coming to hang out with me Friday. DH has a golf tournament that day in his father's memory.

Same routine for several years now” morning of Thanksgiving Day cook/finish cooking Thanksgiving dinner for homeless veterans shelter. Drop it off at noon, run back home shower/change and head to my parents where my mom cooks Thanksgiving for our family. We eat around normal dinner time, home around 9pm. Then promptly pass out

Driving 10 hours to my hometown in TN with a 3 month old. Sooooooo 15 hours.

@buttermilk: our 10.5 hour drive with a 4 month old only turns into 12-12.5 hours. So it might not be as bad as you think.

Just the 3 of us!! I'm making turkey breast and stuffing and mashed potatoes and sweet potato pie! Super excited to not have to travel or deal with entertaining. Just a 4 day weekend with our tiny fam.

Hi, so what everyone plan for Thanksgiving? Any Thanksgiving dinner tradition in your family?
In my Chinese culture we don't have Thanksgiving tradition, we also not big into 'must' eat Turkey for Thanksgiving.
My husband he not a fan of turkey, so it will be Honey Ham for us. I baked Honey Ham on Thanksgiving, and I bring it to my MIL too.My husband have to work on Thanksgiving Day, so I be waiting for him back so we can eat late dinner together. Any ladies here have DH that work on Thanksgiving? It suck isn't it?
He working alot right now due to alot of work loads holiday. Your expected to work every day that your schedule, including holidays. But will be paid extra, at double time and a half, so it not that bad considering the pay.
Right now we don't have any kids yet, so this is the better time for him work holidays to make the extra pay, and save up more money as much as we can.My favorite dish on Thanksgiving have to be stuffing. My husband make the best, the best stuffing. Since we eat Ham, he always make his stuffing separately in a separate dish.
He said he will make the stuffing the night before for me, because he has to work on Thanksgiving Day.
He make it really good, it taste very very good. I try to learn it from him.. But doesn't matter how hard try, my stuffing just won't come out having the EXACT same taste as his stuffing, dunno why.Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, hope everybody have a joyful Thanksgiving with your family and love ones.
