I'm just about done with Trevor Noah's "Born a Crime" and it's been a pretty intriguing read! 
I have a few books at home to read next, so I'm thinking either "Sharp Objects" by Gillian Flynn or "The Light Between Oceans" by M.L. Stedman.

@IRunForFun: I finished Girl on the Train recently. It lost my interest a couple times, but overall was a good read. I'm curious to see how the movie is.

@Synchronicity: @Mrs. Sunshine: Have you ladies read Gone Girl? To this day, that book is the only one I can think of that has put me on an emotional roller coaster and couldn't put down. I just finished Born a Crime this morning and would have to say it's pretty up there for favorite reads--whether or not you know who Trevor Noah is.

I'm reading The Wizard of Oz. We are collecting classics just now and DH got me that for Christmas. Next up is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

I just finished some intense books, so I wanted something quick and fun. I just started reading Fredrick Backman's book, "Britt-Marie Was Here". I really liked his other two books, A Man Called Ove and My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry..

I lied! I just finished Born a Crime and realized I was also reading another book by my nightstand, Everything We Keep (woman's fiance dies before their wedding but he might not really be dead) and Wild (I've been trying to read it for a year....)

@madisonbee: I teach reading and just did a historical fiction unit, so just a lot of WWII books, so super depressing combined with teaching that time period to the kids. One of them, which is a quick (and very good) read, but depressing, was "Between Shades of Gray" by Ruta Sepetys. I also read In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larsen (non fiction read about the American ambassador living in Germany during Hitler's rise to power). There are a few others, but those two in particular were very good.

@madisonbee: I loved Gone Girl! I've been really into mystery novels since reading it, and have since read Girl on the Train. Right now I'm into the first few chapters of Missing, Presumed by Susie Steiner which is really good so far! I'm also really excited to ready The Good Girl by Mary Kubica next!

@jhd: I went through a phase in high school where I read a bunch of wizard of oz books. I think I got through 6 or so. I'd love to go back someday and read them all.

Looking forward to reading a stack of books I'm collecting during our kid free trip to Mexico this winter. Find her by Lisa Gardner is the only title that comes to mind.

Re-reading The Martian by Andy Weir now. Like most books I find it's a lot better than the movie; this one is at least 10x better than the movie - and I loved the movie!

People reading Girl on the Train, did you like it? I did not like it at all - combination of a dislikeable narrator and having it hyped as "the next Gone Girl", I think.
I'm reading Fates and Furies (my concentration book when I have a spare half hour) and rereading the Hunger Games (my nursing book, when I only have five minutes). Next on my list is The Mothers and The Best Kind of People. I just finished The Hating Game and would totally recommend it for anybody in the mood for a fluffy chick-lit type book.

@erinbaderin: I agree that it didn't live up to the hype, especially with people comparing it to Gone Girl. It was definitely slower than Gone Girl. I did like it though!

@erinbaderin: I've read it about 4x so far. I can't get enough, either! What audiobook version do you have? I'll be buying it for sure. I applied to the CSA astronaut program this summer, and I'm still in (1 of 100). I've been thinking about writing a post about how conflicted I feel. I'm not sure how they will handle my pregnancy in the later, more physical stages (and they definitely know I'm pregnant), but I am due in early May and would have to move to Houston, TX in August. It's still an extremely long shot, but I worry about work/family balance in a way I don't currently. It's always been my dream, though...

Oh just started The Woman in Cabin 10. I'm also listening to Truly Madly Guilty on audio book. I think it might be my last Liane Moriarty book for awhile. It seems sooooo slow going at the beginning.

@Astro Bee: I have the one from Audible, narrated by RC Bray. I actually downloaded it from a torrent site last year and liked it so much that I bought it so I can listen more easily.

@erinbaderin: I did not like Girl on the Train. I may have liked it more if I didn't read Gone Girl first. It was pretty slow. I was quite disappointed after all the hype.

Now I'm adding so many books to my goodreads list! I just finished The Nightingale and I thought it was good, thought provoking, but not amazing. I'm starting A Man Called Ove.
@erinbaderin: I did not love Girl on the Train. It was suspenseful and kept my interest though.

@Astro Bee: I feel like maybe I need to give The Martian another shot. I started it but I felt like all the minute detail and calculations in the beginning made it slow. Hmmm...
