Charlie (8) is super into Roald Dahl books and is making his way through all of them. I just bought him Wonder today because I really wanted him to read it. He's also read a bunch of Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume. The good classic books never go out of style!
What are your school-aged kids reading lately?

Right now, my first grader is reading the Goofball series. I feel like the subject matter is appropriate for his level.
I have to go back and see about the Fudge series by Judy Blume, I liked them when I read them, but I don't know if the content is right. I also am not sure my son would like the Ramona series, but I want him to try the one with the Mouse and the Motorcycle...I am going to check that out today at the library.
Then, he likes non-fiction, so he tends to get a few random books about artists or vehicles.

My first grader is into the Little House on the Prairie books right now. In the car, we've been listening to Roald Dahl audiobooks (Matilda narrated by Kate Winslet and several of the shorter books read by Dahl himself).
@looch: Do you think your son might like the Henry Huggins books instead, if not Ramona?

My 6 year old is reading the Princess Posey series and the Ramona books that she got for her birthday.

DD is 6, an advanced reader, and her current fave today is My Weird School Fast Facts: Explorers, Presidents, and Toilets. She also likes humorous books like her uncle's book that shows kids' silly answers to tests. She is not that into fiction chapter books although she liked My Pretty Pony and Geronimo Stilton. She was kinda meh about Ramona. She really like Trolls Junior Graphic Novel. I consider that her first 'real' chapter book.

@Pancakes: I don't know, to be honest, and we didn't have a ton of time at the library so we just got the next installment of Goofballs for now. I am going to try again next time, thanks for the suggestion.
@808love: I want my son to like Geronimo Stilton, but I am not sure I like it, so I am having trouble with it! I wonder if there is a companion or activity to introduce it? Do you know?

@looch: It was a Christmas themed one so I think that's why she read it. She liked it. I haven't read it so I can't vouch for it. Look for a title that intersects with his interests. There are a ton.
@mrs.bee: Do your kids still like Minecraft? DD was so into her Math for Minecrafters Word Problems Christmas gift.
