I’m looking to put a floor seat for LO2 on our Christmas list for grandma. We had an Ingenuity baby base with LO1 and I disliked it as a floor seat because it didn’t seem stable. We did use it as a high chair attached to a chair but not really as a floor seat.
I’m looking at the Bumbo and Fisher Price Sit Me Up floor seat. Thoughts on either or other suggestions?

LOVE the Sit Me Up chair. It has a much higher weight limit, its super stable and secure, and it folds flat for storage. We have legit packed it in a huge suitcase and flown with it before.

I would definitely do the sit me up over a bumbo. I can count on one hand the number of times I used our bumbo for both of my kids combined. The leg holes are too small and there's not enough back support for a taller kiddo. Daycare had the sit me up and we would have gotten a ton more life out of it.

I had the bumbo with ds1 and while I liked it overall, it felt like it had such a short shelf life. Chubby legs don’t work well with it. The tray was also really hard to get on and off (unless they’ve redesigned it).
I have the Sit me Up on my list for DS2.

Agree with others, the Bumbo is not great. We put DD in it like once and never again. Someone gave us a Sit Me Up this time and it looks much better to me.
Though I'm of the mindset that it's better to put baby on a blanket on the floor most of the time anyway! Free movement is better for development.

Another sit me up vote! I am counting the days until my DS is big enough to use ours!
ETA: the cover on it is easily washable, which I thought was amazing with my DD who spit up like crazy!

Love the Fisher Price one! Used it for both my kids! Sturdy, easy to clean, fun!

I used our Bumbo less than 5 times. I borrowed a Bjorn Balance chair that I loved, but it is not cheap.

@Jennibenni: Just to throw another option in the mix we love the Bjorn Bouncer. It has different levels of incline so you can use it pretty flat as a bouncer for a newborn, and then sit it more upright for older babies. We used it to feed solids, etc when the baby got older. I feel like it has a longer useful life span than a true seat.

Second the baby bjorn. My LO used it..gosh until she was probably 18 months. Once she was up and walking she'd settle into it morning and night to have milk in a straw cup. The toy bar is awesome too. It's one of those products that is a hefty initial spend but reallllly makes up for it. It has good resale value too

I third the bjorn. Best baby purchase we made (and we only got it for #3!) , but you can't go wrong with the sit me up either. DS1 had the bumbo (hated it). DS2 had the sit me up seat (Loved it, but it's short lived).

@Jennibenni: my daughter lived in her sit me up chair. We have the lion with the tray. Some people swear by the tray, I didn’t really use it so would have been good with the frog too.
We took that bad boy every where, and like mentioned, it folds up which made it easy to take places.
We also have a bumbo, which I think I put her in like 3 times.. she’s always been really active and it just wasn’t stable enough for her. We also have an ingenuity chair we still use as a high chair going to people’s houses. Super useful if you leave the house often during meal times. I’ve used it at home with visitors babes too.
