If you can sew or know someone who does, I heard better reviews for buying blackout material from the fabric/craft store and sewing it to fabric. We did it for our nursery (asked my aunt to sew them) and compared to the blackout curtains I purchased from Amazon, there is a difference. It worked for us because my nursery theme is unique. I picked out a fabric that matches the two crib sheets I have.

Pottery Barn...they are really nice and work very well!
Only piece of advice is I got these...and the tassles prohibit them closing perfectly therefore some light creeps in....

@LulaBee: I love these. Just sent to DH to see if he likes for LO2's room.

We got ours from Target too - they work great, and are pretty darn cheap!

I took curtains I purchased from Target, bought blackout fabric and used no sew binding (whatever it is called). I just cut the blackout fabric to size, ironed with the no sew binding and now we have blackout curtains! love them

We have the Threshold light blocking curtain liners from Target. I put them under the curtains using a tension rod. Not the cleanest look but our curtains are white so you can't really tell. They work well for us.

I'm thinking of getting these:

We need 8 for our room since our newborn is with us for now. $8 can't be beat and it still has good reviews!

Got curtains and black out liners from ikea and they aren't very good. They let a lot of light through still. Ended up buying the paper redi shades from Home Depot and they make it perfectly dark. But don't look very nice.

Ours are from Pottery Barn. The particular design we have is the riviera stripe which it looks like they are getting rid of; but the blackout feature is great. Our nursery is painted navy blue so it's pretty dark to begin with, but that + regular wood blinds + blackout shades makes it very cave-like, perfect for baby sleeping!

We got Ikea blackout liners too and I'll second what @Foodnerd81: said, they just aren't very good. We now have roller shades plus blackout curtains plus regular curtains and that keeps out almost all of the light.

From Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LE88EI/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
We also have blackout cling film on the same window: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HE57JS/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Southern exposure means a crapload of sun.

I got a set from costco for like $43 ( which is the cheapest I've seen around here ) and they are really good! I don't know the brand though.

@jape14: hahahaha ditto. We have PBK black out curtains in both kids rooms and they are totally cave like.

We bought plain navy blackout curtains from Walmart and then had my MIL sew a ruffle for the top. It came out super cute and blocks out light very well.

no baby yet but these were recommended to me by a mama I trust--I ordered them and they seem really high-quality. expensive, but I didn't want to futz with cheap-o crap that would be annoying if I'm raising and lowering them 8 times a day (plus our nursery only has one window)
