My son is really into superheroes and Star Wars, so we picked up a book about Batman at the bookstore recently and he is obsessed! He is reading it on his own all the time, which is not something he's done before. I think it's the subject matter that made the difference... plus it's a new book so it's more interesting to him (his other superhero books are books we've read aloud to him many times).

I've been thinking about what books might draw my younger daughter into reading, and it sent me down memory lane. For me, I think what really sucked me into the world of reading was this Greek mythology book that my mom bought for me. From there, I got really into science fiction books (what would now probably be called Young Adult). And also, Choose Your Own Adventure books from the local library ha!

What books drew you into the world of reading?
