My boys go to a daycare/preschool that we generally love. We switched DS1 from his first school after a few months of him getting terribly sick constantly. The class sizes are smaller at this school and we haven't had nearly the amount of illness. But I think the best part about our school is how professional the teachers all seem. They actually teach the kids (appropriate to their developmental stage) rather than just babysit. It is such a great environment for our guys! What do you like about your LO's school?

We just switched her in May and I love love love her teachers. The school overall we are super happy with but having teachers that clearly love their job makes it so much easier to leave her.

I really love the diversity at my four year old's school.

@meredithNYC: We have a decent amount of ethnic diversity but I wish there was a bit more. And good day care costs enough that I think it limits the economic diversity that you might find in public schools. We are glad that the elementary school that we are zoned to is very diverse.

How much all the teachers love what they do and love the kids.
It's pretty easy to tell someone who is just there to collect a paycheck and except for one floater/sub who only lasted about 3 months, none of her teachers fall into that bucket. They are so engaged, so loving and so supportive of each child.

I love the teachers.
Two of them have been there for 25+ years and are so loving towards the kids. I cannot imagine being with three year olds for that long and still being so patient. They are saints. -
At daycare, I love the teachers, especially the main ones. They are dedicated and devoted and I know my daughter is in good hands.
School is still very new, but I love that I finally understand what is going! We have a language barrier at daycare but not at elementary and it's such a huge relief to be able to talk to the teacher (who seems fantastic), and be able to read all the papers that come home.

They staff based on demand. They send out a monthly calendar and adapt to it.

The teachers at her school are wonderful. Most have been there for many years and have even sent their kids there - which in turn made them want to teach there.

I can tell the teachers love what they do and in turn my LO loves being there. This preschool is also WAY better about communication than the center she was at, so I really appreciate that as well.

So many things. I love the fact that it will be k-8 when it's fully built and the fact that it follows the IB program.
The principal is the best thing ever though, my son loves him already.

We are only 3 weeks in to our new school, but I love the level of communication, the classroom environment and most of all the outdoor space which is the most magical, creative playground I've every seen.

DD2: (formerly DD1's school) - The teachers! They are so fun, patient (with kids AND parents), and really love what they do.Some have been there over 20 years....this year DD2's teachers are younger, but one of them is actually a graduate of the preschool - how cool is that?
DD1: All the fun "extras" she gets - ballet, gymnastics, and yoga taught by real experts in these fields, the chance to cook, and some daily Spanish/sign language. The teachers are also GREAT about communicating through a class app And best of all, it's free through the public school system, but still run like the private school it is!

I love that it's "normal." DS is in the 2 year old room at a small preschool run by a local church and it's nothing fancy, but all the employees and teachers have been there for several years, all the teachers are really warm, they know my son's name by sight even though he's only been there 2 weeks - and I'm talking all the teachers and employees, from the director to the pre-K teacher to the breakfast room lady. They play outside a lot, get dirty, my son is covered in marker stains at the end of the day, they sing a blessing song before meals, they don't allow aggressive media on clothing (no batman no ninja turtles) because it sets a bad example, just normal and wholesome and fun. At the same time, they use technology so we get texts and coordinate via an app, get an email newsletter with photos once a week, get the tuition auto debited from our account, and there are video cameras in the classrooms so the director can always keep an eye on what's going on.

@travellingbee: I love love love DS's daycare. The two teachers he has have been there for 30 years (!), they have a no phone/tech policy in the classroom, and all the food is organic and healthy. It's a great place. I am so grateful we got off the waitlist!
