Sushi?
Deli meat?
Wine?
Soft serve?
Maybe all of it?
Based on what I've read here it doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with eating foods that are forbidden occasionally.

Sushi. It was my main pregnancy craving. I ate alllllllll the sushi. I just stuck with reputable places.

Sushi, deli meat, and coffee! Sushi is my fave though.
When I was super pregnant I'd order a latte, and the baristas were always like "decaf?" I'm like ummmm no just regular. Oops!!

I have coffee daily. I go through phases with deli meat. I really can't control myself with it sometimes.

I don't believe in "forbidden" food, it elicits a big eye roll from me. I ate plenty of high quality deli sandwiches

Coffee and deli sandwiches. I'd eat sushi if my husband would let me though. I'm dying to have some again!

Soft serve is a new one for me.
I had a nice medium steak for dinner.

Coffee isn't forbidden!
I drink 1-2 cups a day (well within the 200 mg caffeine limit). So far I've done soft serve once, and one entire glass of booze (a brut rosé when we found out LO is a girl - busted out the Waterford crystal flutes and everything) and a ton of mini-sips of DH's drinks. I think those are the only rules I've broken. I'll probably do a little more alcohol and occasional sushi farther along in the pregnancy (still going to avoid high-mercury fish, that's one I will not mess around with).

Coffee, mostly. I eat veggie sushi too- does that count? Otherwise I'm pretty much a rule follower, hah! (Not that others should be, that's just how I am)

Coffee and soft serve. I had soft serve at least 4 times a week the last couple of months (July baby). In fact, once when I was 9 months pregnant, I stood in line at a Mr. Softee truck, and everyone insisted I cut and go to the front, lol. SO I totally did.
Huge pregnant ladies getting their soft serve on, ftw!

I'm not too much of a rebel. I pretty much follow the guidelines I got from the doctor, except it says to minimize caffeine and I have 1-2 half caff keurig coffees per day, so still under 100mg. I do have a diet soda now and then, even though I try to avoid aspartame. I get sushi but only cooked rolls. I get sandwiches but have them nuke the meat first and eat them hot... I'm debating soft serve.
I'll probably be more adventurous whenever I stop throwing up. I don't want to have to wonder if it's morning sickness or if I ate something bad.

So my doctor only told me to be careful about a kind of local lettuce.
I ate sushi, washed it down with a Japanese beer, ate undercooked meats, etc. I knew my sources. That is what is important.

My only concessions have been raw oysters and alcohol. My pre-pregnancy food habits were already pretty good and at the end of the day, I am literally more likely to die in a car accident than to get a food-related illness that would harm the baby.
So, for me, that's a "yes" to pate, seafood, softserve, fresh juices, sushi, deli meat, cured meats, and specially coffee!

I wasn't careful about what I ate. I didn't have alcohol, but I didn't feel like anything else was off limits.
Sushi was one I ate a lot of.

Nothing is off-limits for me. I haven't had sushi this time around, but that's just because I haven't been to a nice sushi place - I'd love some!

This is making me feel better! My one weakness is sushi , but to see so many people have gone ahead and eaten it (at a reputable place) I might succumb to my craving!

@Reese: Same here! I did a little research and we we went out for sushi last night. Here's a link that made me feel a lot better about it. Oh, and ask if their fish is previously frozen. Apparently, the flash freezing process kills whatever bacteria or parasites (eww) that *might* be in the fish.

I've had everything on the "beware" list except raw fish or beef and unpasteurized cheese. Raw fish seems scarier for some reason and I don't really like cheese :/. Last night I had my steak medium rare and had a glass of champagne at a nice dinner. I'm 36w

@winniebee: sounds like you enjoyed your night out! Steak and champagne sounds amazing I might have to have a Sam Adams with the Pats game today.

I have a cup of coffee well within the 200mg of caffine every day. And if it wasn't 30 degrees outside I would have soft serve too! Second pregnancy has made me much more lenient.

Nothing was forbidden by my OB and I believe in both "everything in moderation" and taking a global view of decisions. If things are not forbidden in most of the world, or were not forbidden for the first thousand years we've been having babies, I'm not going to stress out over it now.
So, I ate pretty much everything pregnant I do non-pregnant: coffee/caffeine, runny eggs, rare steaks, uncooked sushi, red wine, cold deli meat, some unpasteurized cheese (hard to find, not the same as "soft cheese" blanket statement), etc.

It's funny, I ate some Brie on crackers last night and immediately started worrying if it was pasteurized. The package says the milk is pasteurized. Should be fine! And it will go great with cranberry sauce this week

@simplyfelicity: thanks for the article! There are some silly superstitions that I've never heard before.

@simplyfelicity: mmmm excellent! I normally only eat the raw salmon anyway. Can't wait!

Coffee. I like to think I'm sticking to the recommended amount, but I wouldn't be surprised if I actually am going over. I just coffee so much. My doctor gave an occasional glass of alcohol the green light, so while that's ok with him, I know it's considered bad by others.
Now that I have gestational diabetes, the "forbidden" list has grown. I went a little wild in a fancy food shop the other day with all their delicious samples. It seemed like no big deal b/c everything was such a small amount, but I know I went past my carb amount.

@simplyfelicity: Thanks for the link! I'll be saving that one.
