We have a 9 month old daughter and we are expecting baby #2 in April. We are still undecided if we want a third child in the future so there will be no permanent birth control yet. DH only wants us to try for a 3rd child if our second is a boy because he says he terrified of the chance of having 3 daughters. 
What is your SO's ideal family plan?

We have a 6 month old and we are planning to TTC again when she is 3-4 years old. 2 kids is our max, no matter what.

DD is 27 months; DS is 6 months; we'll start trying for #3 next year. I think DH is pretty set on 3, but I waffle a little bit about possibly having 4. I think I could convince him if I really tried, though.

He's always wanted 2 children. I've always wanted one. Now that I am pregnant with #1 (Boy) I'd actually like to try again. I'd love to have a girl.
Regardless of the gender of #2, I'm pretty sure baby factory will be closed afterwards.

He'd like to have 4 kids total and to TTC number 2 when LO (due in 3 weeks!) is 2 or 3. I'm totally on board

He'd like 3 to 4 kids and would like them 1.5-2 years apart. I'm okay with the 3 kids, but I want them more like 2.5-3 years apart. I'd like to have my body back for a while in between!

We are both really flexible and will decide when the time comes. We have a 7 month old, and probably won't TTC for a couple years. There are a few things that must happen before we can afford another one.

We're busy cooking #1 now, and I think we'd both like 2-3 ideally, but spread out by a couple of years. Right now we're on a mission to just focus on the first one for now, and then go from there!

He wants a boy and a girl about 2 years apart. Should we double up on one sex, he wants to try for a third, but that's it after that.

He would definitely want a second IF we could guarantee it would be a girl. Since that's not possible, we're both pretty set on just the one (him slightly more than me). We're not ready to make a permanent decision yet, though...we'll reassess in a year or two. Two is our absolute max, though.

he wants 2, not super close in age (4-5 years apart). i would be happy with 1 (i'm an only!), but am happy to have 2 if we can. however, i doubt we'll wait that long in between kids, as i am 30 and not planning on ttc for the first for at least a year.

Both of our ideal plan would be to have a son next, so we have one of each. If we end up with 2 girls, he wants to try for a 3rd, however I"m not sure I'm 100% on board, just depends on how having one and then two goes!

LO is 4 months and DH says we shouldn't stop having kids until we have at least 2 girls and 2 boys! We want our first two close together, and I definitely want at least 3, so we'll see what happens.

If he could have it his way we'd have 5 kids! I am happy stopping at 2, and am OPEN to 3.... but keep telling him let's just see how we can handle being parents of two. I also said I'd be more open to 3 if we can financially support it. He loves the idea of big family gatherings, and a bustling household - he's such a huge family man. Neither of us have large, close extended families or cousins so the only way he'd be able to get the large family he dreams of is if we build it.

Ideally, he says, no more than 2, and if we have 2, they will be at least 5 years apart. We are on the fence though, and 1 might be enough!

He's a pretty open-minded guy, so the numbers, sexes, or timing don't matter to him so much. He's more the type of person who will really focus on the family's comfort and security before trying to expand it.

He has always pictured two kids, but would be okay with three. Any more would probably be too much for him. I always wanted 3, but may be okay with just two depending on finances and how the first two (or even one) go.

We have two girls right now and we both love it. We don't mind having a boy next or even a 3rd girl, but won't decide on that just yet. Still 32 so we have some time to just enjoy our DDs (I want to be done at 35!).

He is so easy going, he always says he doesn't care how many kids we have as long as he gets a dog sometime. Little does he know that I am gonna pull a Duggar and just keep popping them out. If I can get pregnant the first time lol.

We agreed on a minimum of three (may be any combination of biological and adopted), but there is no maximum. It will be based on how we feel after three and what we can afford.

Having no kids yet, I say we have two and then see how we feel. DH is firmly in the three kids camp. We'll see what he thinks once we get them.

He likes it the way it is, just 2. It makes me sad that I'll never get told hold a newborn of our own again!! But we also aren't using BC either...so we both know a third is a possibility.

I'm pretty sure he is satisfied with our four. I had my tubes tied with my c section because we both agreed no more pregnancy but if money was unlimited I feel like I would want to adopt one more. He would probably kill me for even thinking it especially with our three year olds driving us a bit crazy.

My DH wants 2 kids, I would be happy with 3. We agree that they should be spaced about 2 yrs apart. The cute thing is before we had our DD DH wanted sons, but now he says he would be happy with 2 girls.

From the beginning, he wanted 2 kids - we both thought it was ideal. Now that we have DD, I don't know if we'd manage with another. There was a post on here about gender selection and I brought up the scenario of IF we decided to try again and IF we had a hard time and tried IVF and IF it was an option to choose a gender, that I wouldn't mind picking a boy. But then he said any gender would be fine and he would leave it up to me. Well, if that's the case, then we might be in the "one and done" camp.

Neither of us has ever set a number on it, so I guess we agree on that. We'd like to see how things go with number one, due in December, before deciding on when we'd like to try for more.
