My son is pretty chill about most things but our blender, vacuum and lawn mower or anything that makes that sort of motorized sound scares him. Not sure why. If he is asleep nothing bothers him and many other sounds and things are fine with him but if he even sees the vacuum he loses it. He comes to my feet crying. For some reason when we are walking in the stroller if he sees mower he doesn't care. What scares your toddler?

My LO is weirdly afraid of balloons. He also really hated the swings at the park the few times we tried them. However he LOVES the vacuum!

Cats! When we were at my parents house their cat walked into the room and she FREAKED OUT. Like totally spazzed, threw both the toys she was holding into the air, and dropped to the ground and screamed. I'm not going to lie, it was kind of hilarious to watch since I knew she was totally safe and the cat wanted NOTHING to do with her.

@cmomma17: My mom HATES balloons. They make her super nervous because she's afraid they'll pop at any moment. I was never allowed to have them at my birthday parties.

Same with the noises: blender, vacuum, hair dryer, hose spray if really strong...but not electric toothbrushes!

She's pretty fearless but absolutely screamed in terror when the leaves blew towards her the other day. I guess it is pretty terrifying when you've never really seen that before!

He's a HUGE chicken. Everything scares him:) I think he is ok with the vacuum though.
I went to pump my tires the other day and the sound of the air compressor sent him over the edge. -

@sorrycharlie: um in with O that hug me Elmo is so creepy. My husband wishes Tor was afraid of that stuff. The only thing he hates are his bubble mower if the motor sounds start and his new motorized toy drill. He really hates that sound. He loves all the annoying sounds though hahah

Nothing? And that scares me! I wish she would show some fear. She is super curious about everything, and now that she's walking/running, life is... an adventure. Not even the "scary" parts of movie scare her. We watched Beauty and the Beast today. I thought the Beast screaming/raging might scare her, but nope.

The dark. He is terrified of the dark. Bed time is hard.

I pointed our her belly button the other day (hard for her to see with her big tummy
) and she flipped out crying! Yesterday we were pointing out my body parts together, and I showed her my belly button and she cried again! Haha, what a weirdo!

The robot vacuum freaks her out. The regular vacuum isn't as scary for some reason.

She's not super scared but it takes her a while to warm up to dogs. She used to have no fear but after she turned 2 she's a lot more hesitant to approach a dog even after we show her the dog is friendly.

@cmomma17: My brother was also scared of balloons! My parents use to put them around the door when he was little so he wouldn't run out the door during hot summer months.
We have the app Endless Alphabets and there is the word "courage" I think where the monster is falling out of a plane and screams before he releases his parachute and LO always backs away and goes to us while the monster is scream and slowly walks back to the ipad when the monster stops screaming.

DD used to be scared of the vacuum and loud noises, but they don't bother her now.

Another one who doesn't like the vacuum here. He starts to wimped if he sees it and needs to be held.

sidewalk grates/vents. some loud noises (but not others, she is somewhat used to it living in the city).
worst one is she hates public bathrooms because of the loud auto-flush and the hand dryers. not going to help when we potty train . . . -
The vacuum here too. I have to hold her in one arm and vaccume with the other. There is also a certain book about the itsy bitsy spider that she tells to "go away." It's cute

Similar things to yours. She refers to them all as "NOISE" and gets very unsettled when she sees a vacuum, drill, or blender. She'll start to say things like "No more noise. No noise. Noise bye bye"

Only a few things and just recently discovered them. They are elevators and public bathrooms. He cries in the elevator and most of the time while in the bathroom. I avoid the loud hand dryers if possible since he freaked out the other day when I used one. Also doesn't like the toilet flushing sound. Other than that, he is fearless!
