@mfa_lady: ah! That little rascal! I can't believe she did that already! It's much harder to roll while swaddled too!

I think you'll have to swaddle wean. maybe try with arms out first?

We struggled with this and kept swaddling her for a bit, even though it wasn't Ideal-we didn't know what to do. We had success with the merlin magic sleep suit to dampen her movements

@snowjewelz: I didn't even think of the zipadee zip!

My son flipped over while swaddled at 3 months. We started using the Merlin suit and did that until he outgrew it around 6-7 months and started naturally sleeping on his tummy.

@LBee: I suggested the Merlin because it makes it very hard for them to flip.
So, zipadeezip if she wants him to be able to flip, Merlin if she doesn't

@LBee: exactly! We were in The Merlin from about 3 months to 4.5-5 months after he kept breaking the swaddle at 2.5 months. (Love To Dream in between that). He couldn't flip but he kept bringing up his legs and rolling to the side but he couldn't stay on his side. That's when I thought that maybe he really wanted to sleep on his side or roll so I took it off during naps. He immediately started moving all over the place and actually sleeping better. He is a total side sleeper now! I loved the Merlin and it really helped when he still needed the benefits of a swaddle but was too big for it. But I feel guilty sometimes that I maybe kept him in it too long and he was ready to move and I was keeping him locked up. Haha. Ohhhh, mom guilt.

@mfa_lady: Sounds like my son. He wasn't actually rolling over per se, but it was more like flipping himself over. We used the Velcro swaddleme ones with him. My friend who's son runs hot also used my merlin suit for awhile and I don't think it was a problem. I think they just put him in a diaper inside and with my son he usually only wore a short sleeve onesie. They make one now that's cotton instead of fleece, which might be a better option. I know they are expensive, but we ended up getting a second one and they were well worth it for our family.

@mfa_lady: My son runs super hot too (to the degree we couldn't use the Halo swaddle thing with a onesie underneath it or he would wake up soaking wet with sweat). We just put him in the Merlin in just a diaper. He was fine temperature wise!

@mfa_lady: we switched to the Zipadee Zip when she started rolling in her swaddle. It allows too much freedom for some babies, but it was a great transition for us. Took maybe 3 days for her to adjust.
