Just curious... what (if any) socks do you wear with ballet flats? I see SO many cute outfits featuring ballet flats on pinterest and polyvore but hesitate to buy more of them because the couple of pairs I have are not comfortable without socks, and they look weird with all the pairs I have tried. I have a pair of the little socks that just basically cover the bottom part of the foot, but they always seem to show!

I don't wear socks with ballet flats. If they're uncomfy and it's cool out I'll wear tights.

@artbee: ditto! If the shoes need socks for comfort they don't get worn. I add tights if cold (and wearing skirt/dress)

What brand do you all get that are comfortable without socks? My favorite pair, which I usually wear with trouser socks or tights, have a liner in the bottom that kind of bunches up and sticks to my feet when they sweat.

I wear a lot of my flats without socks, but when I do wear socks I use these slingback toe covers from Hue: http://www.hue.com/Socks/Shoe-Liners/Liners/HUE-Perfectly-Bare-Slingback-Liners.aspx

I've tried regular shoe lines, but they show in a lot of my ballet flats which I'm not a fan of.

I have nine west on today, they are quite comfy. Sounds like you need to get a cobbler to fix the lining.

I don't wear socks with them. Sometimes I wear tights like if I'm wearing a skirt and it's cold out.

Those socks that @chopsuey119 posted look interesting, are they scratchy?
I usually only wear ballet flats in the warmer months, in the winter if I am wearing flats they're more like a loafer style and I wear those with trouser socks.

During winter I wear tights, I don't wear anything with them during the rest of the year.

no socks. Go to the drugstore and buy some cheap insoles. I buy the CVS brand that you cut to your shoe size. they're like cloth and don't have adhesive so they don't stick to the soles of your shoes. Not pretty when you take them off, but so worth it! I have a pair in every pair of flats I have. You have to replace them twice a year or so. But they're cheap.

Rarely... and only if the ballet flats are being worn with a full on trouser style pant. It sucks cause they get stinky faster when you don't wear socks :S

I don't wear socks with ballet flats either. IMO, Tory Burch ballet flats are easily the comfiest. Worth every penny.

I don't wear socks, the trick is to get 'em broken in. You'll have blisters and it'll be miserable for the first few weeks, but then it's smooth sailing and they'll be super comfortable! I honestly haven't found a pair I can put on brand new and think they're comfortable--it takes time!

I have three pairs of ballet flats and LOVE them - they are sooo comfortable. One pair is from American Eagle and the other two pairs are from LOFT.

So I'm new to ballet flats... don't your shoes get stinky if you don't wear socks?
I'm wearing my first pair today and I did not wear socks with them. For one they are a little tight, so socks would not fit.
Just wondering if I should get some ultra-thin socks. I'll definitely get those insoles.

None for the most part! Sometimes nude knee highs if I'm wearing them with pants.
