We use two different kinds. Aveno Kids and ThinkBaby. I like Aveno Kids because it goes on smooth and doesn't take forever to rub in like ThinkBaby.

My derm gave me this list last spring (obvi, not comprehensive, and not only for kids) but they are some that she likes better than others for their coverage...

We use Blue Lizard for body and Baby Neutrogena stick for face. I buy the Blue Lizard off Amazon, but apparently Target sells it online now too.

@mediagirl: Yeah, badger and thinkbaby both take a bit of elbow grease I suppose! I just feel the most comfortable using those so I never wanted to look into other options. Maybe when there are more skin to cover and more than 1 kid to slather on, I'll re-consider hah!

We use Blue Lizard sensitive. I also have a Babo Botanicals stick for the face, but we mostly use Blue Lizard on his face too.

Acure organics spray for the body and Sierra sage solar goo for the face.
The goo is difficult to rub in but we use it for the face because it doesn't run. -

I apply a bunch of different sunscreens in my preschool class. I like babyganics the best. It's the easiest to apply. Badger & thinkbaby aren't that bad, they just take a few more passes to rub in. Honest co is the worst, it's so hard to rub in and it's so greasy! At home, we use Badger for our infant and Babyganics for our preschooler (he's got more area to cover and Badger is expensive!)

My favorite mineral based sunscreen for LO is definitely Thinkbaby (actually Thinksport is what we have). It rubs in well for a mineral sunscreen. It still looks super chalky on my LO's dark skin and I don't think it is as water resistant as chemical based sunscreen.
I tried Aveeno Baby (the broad spectrum chemical based one) and I think it irritated her eczema and it also seemed to wash off in the pool.
Blue Lizard Sport is what we are using right now. It's both mineral and chemical based but I think it has less chemicals and so it doesn't seem to irritate LO's skin very much. It rubs in so easy and it actually lasts and works!

Blue lizard and then vanicream sensitive on eczema areas. I liked thinkbaby but it made lo break out everywhere and her eczema areas were horrible.

@bluestriped bee: I order it on Amazon. We used CA Baby in the past (those were the two our ped had suggested) but prefer BL because it goes on more easily, is cheaper, and it doesn't seem to bother DD2's exzema.

My husband spend HOURS researching this and we, now, use Ocean Potion Gentle and Sensitive. The big deciding factor, I believe, was that he looked at some testing on Consumer Reports about how long the various physical sunscreens actually stayed on when in the water and decided this was the best one. And I like that it rubs in fairly easily for a physical sunscreen. We have used some other physical sunscreens and will use those bottles up when we're going to be in the sun but not in the water.

We use Babyganics, ThinkBaby, and Aveeno baby. They are all fine. The Babyganics stick is awesome for faces though really hard to rub in and wash off.
