@lemondrop: Came here to say subway tile. Reminds me of a public bathroom.

@Mae: @Pirouette: @Greentea: Yes yes yes!!! Skinny jeans are the worst!!! Go away, skinny jeans!!!

Also, texting. That's a trend, right?

I like a lot of the things mentioned here! I like to have fun with what I wear and while I personally probably won't be wearing any crop tops, I think they're cute when done right, like with a long skirt. I love my skinny jeans and patterned leggings! I think gray walls are soothing and an elegant neutral-- I don't really care what other people's homes have if I like something for mine. I don't have a halo ring, and only know a few women who do, and while they may be increasingly popular, it's because they're so eye-catching with all that extra sparkle! What's not to love about that?

I do agree on being over the super-short, high-waisted denim shorts. They don't flatter *anyone*! And I don't hate it, but chevron does feel a bit tired.

Stainless steel. Be gone FOREVER. I hope whatever the next trend is, that's it's way easier to keep clean.

The shorts, yes. I don't need to see your butt cheeks.

Dressing kids and babies like tiny adults. I'm sorry, but I can't take it anymore. they are only babies once, why are you in such a hurry to make them look grown? Once in a while it's cute...

Those ruffley clown pants for girls.

I do love neon though! Reminds me of when I was a kid!

Ombre hair. It just looks like you got it dyed months ago and haven't touched it up since.

Chevron makes me want to scratch my eyeballs out.

@MrsBananaGrabber: YES. I don't know why this is a thing.

Came here to say skinny jeans 4evaaa. I hope nothing else ever comes back. It has made jeans shopping so much easier for me because i don't have to buy long/tall and I look fab in them (and I am NOT skinny!)

    wonderful pear / 26210 posts

Haha, trends? I don't even know what they are anymore. I wear what flatters my body type.

  11. meredithNYC

    pomegranate / 3314 posts

@hotchildinthecity: I'm with you. I think skinny jeans are more flattering than people give them credit for. Depending on how you style them, they can be really slimming!

  12. hotchildinthecity

    nectarine / 2272 posts

@meredithNYC: plus how else am I going to wear my boots over them? Which is pretty much my fall/winter uniform

So funny to see people say open floor plans... watching so much HGTV lately and watching people knock down every wall in their first floor and putting up beams for those load-bearing walls. I can just imagine when the trend is over, it'll be so much easier and cheaper for the next generation to frame and build walls than it was for us to take them down...!!

I must say, our first floor is sort of open concept (kind of a big donut shape with one wall in the middle) and without that wall in the middle, we would have impossibly less kitchen cabinet storage (we have a whole wall of cabinets there) and NOWHERE to put the TV or any bookshelves. Unless you put a couch or some tall thing in the middle... which is basically.. a wall...??

crop tops, super short shorts, patterned leggings, and wedge sneakers.

  15. Greentea

    pomelo / 5678 posts

I love open floor plans! would never do gray walls however.

  16. YouGotMe

    apricot / 477 posts

@Pirouette: DH and I went to get him new jeans, even the straight leg jeans he did find were still "skinny" even though they were the EXACT pair he owns. He couldn't even fit his leg into them... Ugh. They need to go.

    Trends I HATE:
    -one piece PJ's on adults
-sheer tops with just a bra under

  17. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

I agree with open floor plans. I have 3 dogs and it's easy to put a gate up and keep them out while I'm cooking. This would be impossible with an open floor plan.

Also, attitude sayings on baby onesies.

  18. coopsmama

    cantaloupe / 6059 posts

@Dandelion: In total agreement about those onesies! I was given so many at my baby shower for my first - he never even wore them. Can't stand them!

  19. looch

    wonderful pear / 26210 posts

@hotchildinthecity: yeah, but it's annoying when you want other options and all that's in the stores are skinny...although, I do see a lot of boyfriend/girlfriend styles now.

  20. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@coopsmama: bibs, too. I got so many with sayings about poop on them! They went straight to goodwill.

  21. snowjewelz

@Boogs: Yess! I love the look but they are so annoying to clean!!

  22. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@YouGotMe: regular people really wear sheer tops w/ a bra underneath?! When did showing your underwear become ok?!

  23. YouGotMe

    apricot / 477 posts

@snowjewelz: I should add that I work in a college, but yes. I see it all the time.

ETA: I see it not just in the "college" age range also.

  24. SweetiePie

    honeydew / 7463 posts

@hotchildinthecity: Amen, sister! And I can wear flats with them with no worries about hemming.
I enjoy a good wide leg or flared pant, but only occasionally because those are best with a nice tall wedge sandal and I like flats for day to day.

  25. littlebug

    honeydew / 7504 posts

    -high-waisted short shorts. no.
    -big flowers/bows on babies.
-overalls. can we kill this before it becomes a thing?

  26. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

The Avon/Forever Living etc. etc. pyramid schemes. I don't know if they count as a "trend" but they are all over FB and so annoying!

  27. MediaNaranja

    pomegranate / 3244 posts

@illumina: Oh man, yes! I live in Utah which seems like ground zero for all these crazy MLM schemes.

  28. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@MediaNaranja: I wouldn't mind so much if they were just trying to sell their products...but it's more about recruiting reps, because that's where the money lies. Fed up with the posts on FB about how much money they earnt this month or how amazing their "business" is etc. etc.

  29. mrscobee

    clementine / 903 posts

@illumina: Ohhhhhh... That is such a good one! Yes, pyramid schemes. ItWorks!, Jamberry, etc. If these people were earning $20K / month, hardly working, then everyone would do it - geez!!

  30. plantains

@hotchildinthecity: yes! Skinny jeans till the end of time!

  31. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@mrscobee: Because I SAH, these friends cannot fathom why I wouldn't want to do it for the extra £££. Um, because I have a job looking after my LO? Because I don't want the cash that badly?

    @lawbee11: that cracks me up!!

  40. mrscobee

    clementine / 903 posts

@illumina: OMG!! I bet you get a lot of solicitations for doing that! Good for you for fending them off Yes, better things to do. I don't believe you can get rich quick off any of those. The very few people who do, do every bit as much work as a full time job!
