We have one of those bath mats but E is getting too big/wiggly for it. We also have a tub that can lay back or sit up more but she hates it and it's so bulky. What type of bath seat did you use after your LO was out of the newborn stage but not able to sit up on their own yet.

We've used this one by Angelcare since birth! He's 5 months now and not sitting up so we still use it. It works really well. It's really lightweight.

Subscribing! I'm getting tired of our bulky one. I still use the hammock for DD. Actually putting her in the tub sounds too hard to do without a second person.

we did..
(1) nemo infant tub on the counter
(2) about an inch of water in the big tub, I laid her on a hand towel and folded another under her head
(3) when she was an unsteady sitter, we changed to the inflatable duck tub. she could kinda prop against the corner.
(4) when she outgrew THAT, we went to big tub and haven't looked back! -
following...M is outgrowing the sink!

Hah, we just had L in that bulky baby tub until she was like 10 months old. So much easier than the big tub - I wish she still fit!

Maybe I'll just stick it out with the bath mat then until she can sit, I'm sick of buying baby gear haha!

@Dandelion: @Bao: I'm going to try to repurpose the duck bath this summer or next as an inflatable boat for the pool!
I wonder if it'll work or be too top/front heavy with the duck head. lol.

@swurlygurl: same here. We ha the blue plastic one and used it until she started trying to stand in it, then we just got a mat for the big tub. It takes longer to fill and is harder to clean than the baby tub, but I was happy to get that bulky plastic tub out of the house (to the house of a friend who just had her baby!)

We did what @sorrycharlie did and filled the tub with an inch of water and put a non-slip mat under him. Bonus is that they've come in handy as he's gotten older and is sitting up on his own!

The inch of water worked well. He loved kicking in the water and it just made it easier to eliminate a baby tub altogether

We started with the Puj, graduated to the Munchkin inflatable duck and then went to the big tub and nonslip mat.

We used the Primo EuroBath tub for C until she was about 22 months old! From newborn to toddler hood. H had Ben using it since he was born and at hope to keep him in it as long as possible. It's such a waste of water to give C a bath in the regular tub.
We started off using it on our kitchen counter then just put it inside the regular tub when she started splashing more. We finally moved her to the regular tub when she started standing up during her baths... She would always just sit while we bathed her!
I wonder if it'll work or be too top/front heavy with the duck head. lol.
