Hello! My baby is 6 weeks old. The first couple times we gave her a sponge bath when we brought her home she didn't mind, but has pretty much hated every bath we have given her since. We have a Boon Naked Tub and we use that. She screams! I thought this was supposed to be a calming thing for them lol?
What are your best tips for making bath time more enjoyable for an infant?

Time. And making sure they aren't cold. Both my kids hated bath until 8ish weeks

Make it as warm as possible in the room, and keep her covered with a washcloth as much as possible. I think they just don't like being cold!

For us it just came with time. For a while they screamed and cried. Eventually when they were a few months old they realized. They could splash a bit and then started to like it. You can try adjusting the water temp to see if they like it hotter or colder but some babies just don't like it. It's not bad just get it done quick and then give lots of snuggles.

Tenny hated bath time. I think we were doing it before bed so she was overtired. We started showering with her at 10 weeks which she loves. She does fine now when we occasionally give her baths- but never at bedtime

We were so afraid of the water being too hot that we made the first few baths too cold. We made the water pretty warm and DS went from hating baths to loving them.

Definitely time! My newborn HATED the bath. It was so horrible that she rarely got bathed. But now at 2 months she LOVES it and just wants to chill out in there.

Warm water, very warm room and music. My LO *loved* music playing (especially Lady Gaga, lol) as an infant. Also, have a towel ready so they don't get cold when they get out.

Get out the space heater and cover her with a couple of warm washcloths. Also, I don't know how often you're giving her a bath, but we only really gave our baby a bath once a week or so for the first several months of her life and then just made sure to clean out under her chins/arms in the interim.

Ok I think I was probably keeping the water too cold out of fear of making it too warm so will try that. I actually just decided to take a bath WITH her just now and she loved it! Even got some almost smiles, so I guess I could always do that until she likes them more on her own.

We ran a space heater nearby and made the water warm and covered his middle with washcloths. Then toweled him off and lotion massaged him in the heat of the heater.
