What was the most expensive item you had on your wedding registry? I've seen some crazy expensive items on registries that makes me scratch my head (furniture, art work, gaming systems, TVs, etc). Highest price we had was our pots and pans. Everything else was $200 and under.

A $500 rug from Crate and Barrel? It was a super plush/high pile rug.
We registered for big ticket items that we would buy ourselves after the wedding using the registry completion discount. It wasn't necessarily for the guests, but if someone bought, awesome. If not, no biggie. We'll get it.

I think it was our dyson vacuum as well. A family of 4 that attended our wedding got it for us.

I think ours was a $350 set of pots and pans. And we had a honeymoon registry, so there was an excursion that was like $300 or something. 2 or 3 couples went in on the excursion for us, and then my ILs bought us the pots and pans for Christmas. Except that they didn't and we ended up returning them and buying the ones we wanted ourselves. [They bought something "similar" off of ebay, but it wasn't similar at all except for the brand name.]

Hard to remember, but I think we had a few items in the $200 range (kitchen aid, knife set, pot/pan set, down comforter). I don't think we had anything higher than maybe $225 or maayyybe 250 but I don't think so.

Nothing was above $100.. we registered for all our pots and pans, knives, etc. a la carte to keep everything low. We were young... 24! Maybe a down comforter was the highest price item.

The registry lady at Bed, Bath & Beyond was urging me to register for a Kitchen Aid Mixer, but it was just so expensive, and we just don't have the counter space to begin with (and if it goes into a cupboard, it'll never get hauled out!).
I think we had a $200 set of pots & pans as our most expensive thing.

Our kitchenaid. Well. Correction - DH scanned a $600 tv without my knowledge.
Little did I know our groomsmen all chipped in and got it! (black friday deal + employee discount + damaged box discount)

I think it was the kitchenaid mixer. Our china was $80 a place setting and some people bought multiple sets!

@Bao: the first thing to go on our registry was a poker tabletop and set of ceramic poker chips! haha. We never use it but can't bear to get rid of it because of that memory of it being the first thing to get purchased... and I remember who got it, too!!

I can't remember. I think that our silverware or plates were pricey. We've been using pots and pans I've had since 2002 that I got right before I graduated undergrad. We're thinking about getting some new pots soon as the 12 year old ones are looking pretty beat.

The most expensive things were a dyson (I think $500) a kitchen aid stand mixer ($300) our knives which were $230 and a le creuset french oven which was $280. We actually ended up getting all of them. My husband's grandma actually requested we put the vacuum on our registry so she could buy it for us.

@littlek: Haha! Ours had a playstation on it. We put in on our Target registry to get the discount and buy it ourselves. To our surprise, my mom's cousin (and her family - her kids are my age and we grew up as cousins) gave it to us. We were shocked, and really happy! We use it for Hulu/Netflix too.

We registered for a set of Wusthof knives. I can't recall if it was $200 or $300. My coworkers all went in on it! It was a lovely surprise.

I put a few expensive items on there so that I could use the discount to buy it afterwards. Most expensive was the kitchenaid mixer, vacuum and calphalon pan set.
