I know birthday girl is really into "girly" things (mostly Barbie) but something in me is having a hard time gifting a Barbie doll, even though I used to play with them when I was young. I think just being more aware of the message that the dolls represent a "perfect or ideal" body type gives me pause. I was thinking maybe I can gift a Barbie book or activity book along with something else. Just drawing a blank on the something else part. Suggestions appreciated!

My three year loves her tea party set, dress up clothes and water color books! I don't see any of that changing soon, haha so I think all of it would be good for a 4 year old! I'm not a huge fan of Barbie either (although she has some already that were gifts from others) but I did buy a fisher price doll family that she loves.

My 4.5 year old loves anything featured on those YouTube toy reveal channels. Shopkins, rescuebots, imaginext sets..
She also really likes dress up clothes! High heels, fairy wings, tutu's, fake jewelry, etc.

I got a 4 year old PJs, a shirt, two notebooks and fun pencils (she loves scribbling things) and a Melissa and Doug head band making kit!

I was just at a 4 year old's birthday party a couple weeks ago, and her favorite present was a Frozen themed scooter. We got her a Fubbles no-spill bubble bucket because her parents told us she LOVES bubbles but is always spilling them. We also got her a huge bottle of bubble solution to go with it. When they were over at our house she really loved our bubble machine.

Paper dolls! The best ones are by Dover and are illustrated by Tom Tierney.

My LO is super girly but her favorite gift was the stomp rocket. It's a huge hit among 4 year olds that I know.

olive is super into legos (the girly sets), always play doh, magiclip disney princesses, shopkins, dress-up clothes, and art supplies. pretty much all 4 year old girls are!

My niece loves strawberry shortcake, my little ponies, horse toys and dress up outfits. She also likes arts and crafts.

Barbie. My nieces love Barbie. I do try to find the better message ones, I just bought my niece director Barbie.

If she likes dress up dolls like barbie, but you prefer a more realistic image, my nieces have liked the Moxie Girls you can get from Target. And my SIL liked that their clothes were so much more modest than barbies.
