Anyone have a go-to for gender guesses? My friend who has 4 swears by the heartbeat.
I have another friend who, if you ask her, she's always wrong - haha. So that's a good gauge.
Anything you think increases the odds higher than 50 /50?
I know they are all hit or miss. This is just for fun as I entertain myself over the next two weeks before we find out.

I think babies kind of look like a boy or a girl at the 12 week ultrasound. It's not necessarily scientific (although there is the skull theory), but I seem to guess correctly more often than not.

I also took this quiz - its the only one I've taken. Very different questions than the typical old wives tales. Talks about where you were born and questions about the father.

I'm ALWAYS wrong. But I'm getting better.... if I see an u/s, I use the skull theory.

@Kelley_lovelikecrazy: I don't really have a go to but that quiz was wrong for me...technically all but one of the answers that I remember would be the same for lo1 and she was a girl though!

If mom gains just in her tummy I say boy and if she gains all over (face, bum, etc) I say girl.

I gained only in my belly and had girls @Truth Bombs!
The fast heartbeat= girl was true for me. I'm also pretty good with gut feelings.

@erinpye: oddly enough I also only gained in my belly with my girl but I have extra junk in my trunk with my boy. So I don't fit my own gauge!! But generally I do find it holds true!!

Someone told me if you take your age and the month you conceived - if both are even or odd then girl. If one is even and the other is odd then boy. Worked for my two boys and my sister's three but I don't know about anyone else!

What worked for 3 of 4 of my friends was the holding baby theory (not real name I made that up). But if you hold a baby boy and your baby in utero moves like crazy, it's a boy! If it doesn't, it's a girl. Theory being that it can be your only that sex of baby in your life.
That's 75% success so...win?

I'm a terrible guesser (and my intuition for myself has been 0/2, lol!) but I have a coworker who swears by the needle on a string trick...hold it over the left palm, and if it swings back and forth it's a boy and in circles for a girl. She says it's been right for the last 6 pregnant women she's tried it on (including me...she did it on me on 3 separate occasions, before we found out, and every time it said girl. I was positive it was a boy, lol!)

I go by Morning sickness! Sicker = girl. I have only been wrong once using this! That quiz was interesting but wrong for me. I had a gut feeling from the second I poas I was having a girl and I was right! Nub theory was also right.

Nub theory for me! I haven't been wrong yet when there is a visible nub.
When it came to my own pregnancies, nausea, acne and my cravings gave it away because they were all so different from my first and my intuition was right, #1 was a boy and #2 girl.

The Chinese Gender Predictor was correct for me both times! And further along in the pregnancy, most people could guess correctly with the bump look. Boy: pointing out and like a basketball, vs. Girl: low and wide.

I like the ring test - it was right for my daughter and we did it many times thru the pregnancy. Ring always swung I'm a circular motion.
And I also peed on baking soda a lot - Google it! It never fizzed which means girl.

My go-to's are all belly for boy and wider for girl, and little to no MS for boy. I've def seen exceptions, but that's just what I usually base my guesses off of. Do you have a gut feeling for yourself?

@getjazzy: @getjazzy: the print outs from my ultrasounds aren't good, so none to be able to use the nub theory.
@shopaholic: I can't find the 'right' chart. With DD, one calendar said girl and one said boy. I think sometimes you use chinese age vs american age?
@buttermilk: I like these! The ring test, I've seen both. back and forth = girl and circular = girl - dug up my old blog post when I tried it and it was back and forth and I had a girl. Wonder if it'd be different this time?

It's fun just playing boy vs girl for a little while and not knowing yet.

I've only had one child, a boy, and the technician guessed it at 10 weeks. However we moved shortly after that and I got it confirmed at 16 weeks with an elective ultrasound.
I'm pregnant with number two. Funny thing about the pregnancy number 1 was I swore I was carrying on my right. Just found the ramzi method today and I checked my sons 10 week again and definitely saw the placenta on the right.
I'm not sure about this one, and only one person has said right meaning boy, but who knows. I'm waiting till the 18th to have an 11 week ultrasound and I'll be able to really see the baby and placenta then.
As for old wives tales, I'm just not into those, but my in-laws said "bananas = boy, strawberries = girl." I love both though but have had a heightened mood for strawberries this time around, vs bananas with my son.
