If you had an IUI and got pregnant, what sex did you end up with? I am testing this "boys are more likely" theory.

I had an IUI and am pregnant with a boy. Looking back, the 'science' of this makes sense. I was using OPK's and had a really dark one on Wed and a clear positive on Thursday. On Friday morning we did the IUI and did not BD at all before on the days leading up to it. DH's spermcount was really high - almost 40 million - so the sperm that got to the egg not only got there immediatley because clearly the egg was already released and on it's way down, but it beat out 40 million other sperm which is more likely to be male since they are stronger and faster but die quicker.

I haven't had an IUI but my friend who has two sons had IUI's to conceive them.

My friend had three IUI's with one of them being a success. She has a girl.

We did TI so we started a couple days earlier than if we did IUI, but we are having a boy too.

Yes I agree about the science...it all makes sense. However, it makes me really hope that we're able to get pregnant without IUI next time so that I can have better odds for a girl and end up with one of each.

I know a IUI family that had two girls (separately, not twins, haha).

I got pregnant from an IUI and we have a girl. They had us have intercouse the night of the tigger shot which was Saturday night and then we had our IUI Monday morning. They had us have intercouse again Monday and Tuesday night to cover all bases so who knows when it really happened.

@kayakgirl73: We were supposed to follow a similar protocol but DH was sick so it prevented BD literally most of the month. I wonder if things would've been different had we been able to DTD.

I did the trigger shot Friday around lunchtime and the IUI was Saturday morning. We're expecting a girl.

I voted but not for me. It was for my best friend. She had IUI and got twins, one boy one girl.
I wouldn't mind that happening to me!

@marionberry: Great topic! I wondered this, too! As an IUI-er, I can't wait to see where the numbers fall!

I'm curious about the results of this poll myself. I've known of three IUI's this year that resulted in 2 boys, and 1 girl. I find out the sex of our baby at the end of the month - I'll be sure to report back!

I voted for my sister who had a girl through IUI. And then a boy through IVF!

Love this post! We just had our 2nd IUI so I'm hoping it's a BFP. I'd take either gender. However I did vote for one of my BFs that had a baby boy last year through IUI. It makes sense to me since I would think the wash might get rid of lots of girl makers

Looks like I'm team blue! I just added another vote for an IUI that resulted in a boy pregnancy!

Supposedly this is also the case for ivf, boys are more likely. We had twins: one of each gender. Had we only transferred one, we are 99% sure it would have been our son though, as he was a slightly bigger blast and measured slightly bigger throughout my pregnancy.

I'm currently expecting a baby girl after an IUI. My friend conceived twin girls via IUI. She told me girls are more likely because of what they do with the sperm. I can't confirm this though.

I haven't been through IUI, but from all of the recent studies I've seen, science has basically disproven the whole theory about male sperm being faster and girl sperm being slower but living longer.
