When did you start wearing maternity shirts? I just bought my first pair of maternity pants yesterday even though I only have a slight bump because I didn't care for the hair band trick.
Anyway, I am half considering wearing maternity shirts when I come back from Christmas break (I will be almost 15 weeks) to avoid the whole " is she/isn't she" thing. If I am wearing a maternity top it might just be obvious. Anyway, I found some that aren't too billowy etc. I am probably thinking too much about this, 
but I was wondering when you started wearing maternity tops?

I started wearing maternity tops around 14-15 weeks and have had to stop wearing most non-maternity tops around 18w

I was in maternity pants pretty early, I think at about 14 weeks. But I found that maternity shirts were super unflattering until much later on in the pregnancy, closer to 24/25 weeks is when I really started to fit into them. Up until that point it looked way better if I wore a regular shirt in a larger size.

I would also say around the 14 week mark. From about week 10 I was doing the bella band and hair-tie combo but after week 14 that was too tight and restrictive. I am now 24 weeks, and some of the maternity shirts and tops which I purchased in the early second trimester are no longer long enough to cover my bump, so if you are going to start early, I recommend getting long tops and shirts... even if they don't look as nice early on, it will save you having to go back and buy more!

It's all about comfort. I'm not sure when I started, but I have thought recently that it's time to dig out my maternity clothes. I usually wear form-fitting clothing and it's just not comfortable right now.

I bought regular blousy, bigger shirts early in pregnancy and have a couple of maternity shirts and one sweater but overall even at 28 weeks I find that most if my regular shirts still work. They just hug the bump closer. I wear a lot of dresses too. Overall I don't like all the ruching on maternity shirts, esp early in pregnancy.

17 weeks, I think? I wore a lot of layered cardigans over tops.

I started around 12 weeks, my boobs got huge and I didn't want to stretch out my normal shirts. I did wear the more fitted ones and jus wear my pre-pregnancy cardigans/cover ups over top (my go to style.)

Around 15 weeks, I started wearing fitted maternity shirts that really grew with me. I bought a few from Pea in the Pod and they really held up well.

Probably 11/12 weeks. I'm tall and I needed longer shirts to hide the maternity panel on my pants. Some of my shirts were ok for work but things like t-shirts for the weekends didn't.

Around 12-13 weeks I think, but I still wore a lot of my stretchy non-maternity clothes until 20 weeks or so. (still wearing my non-maternity yoga pants and bigger sweatshirts at 36 weeks)
My boobs got huge early on, so it was more that my shirts were too short than too small. -
I think around 28-30 weeks. I could hardly find any nice maternity t-shirts so for as long as I could I wore regular but a couple of sizes bigger than usual.

I bought a lot of maternity tanks but not many tops. I just wore regular shirts in bigger sizes which were more flattering on me. I also wore wrap dresses, etc

I started around 15 weeks, after we were officially public with the pregnancy. I'm short, so it was hard to hide my growing bump, since out was the only direction I had to grow. The maternity tops helped me go from looking like I'd had too many tacos to looking like I was pregnant. Now at 32 weeks, some of the shorter maternity tops no longer work, but the longer ones still do. If you're more comfortable in a maternity top, I say go for it!

I wore some maternity shirts but mainly bought larger, longer regular shirts for comfort.

22 weeks. I wish I had started a bit earlier because then maybe people wouldn't have just assumed I was getting fat.

Ugh, I'm having the worst time with this. I'm only 9 weeks, but all of my button up shirts almost don't fit over my now huge boobs. I've got a little more tummy, but I'm no where near ready for maternity shirts. Last time, I just bought a bunch of shirts on sale in a size up, and I guess I'll have to do that again. Feels like a waste, though, because you do need the maternity stuff eventually. It just looks so baggy and long until you're bigger.

Thanks for the info and suggestions. Just for reference, here is me from yesterday, I tried on a top when I bought my maternity jeans. I definitely have something going on in there...I am planning on telling my employer on January 8th, after my second ultrasound and I go back to work on the 5th.

I still wear a lot of my regular shirts but the couple I have I started wearing them around 16 weeks but they didn't really fit right until I got a little bigger around 20 or so weeks.

I bought some maternity shirts when I bought my maternity pants around 12w. I half wear maternity shirts with my normal shirts. Some of my normal shirts look really frumpy and I like the look of the maternity shirts better. So I think I wear them more often then I really need to for that reason.

Around 6 months. My bump is relatively small and was very slow to come out so I got away with wearing my regular tops that were more blousy and flowy summer dresses.

I started wearing tight ones (like your picture) by 10 weeks or so. But I also just wore my usual shirts with a long tank under them (to hide panels, as has been mentioned) until... ? I think I was still wearing them when it ended at 33 weeks. But I chose which ones I was willing to sacrifice as maternity only since of course now they're very stretched out. But they did work fine layered.

Pants at 13 weeks for me and switched to all maternity at 19 weeks.

I'm not even knocked up, and I feel like I've been buying flowy tops, telling myself, "this is pretty cute, and it will work great when I'm PG!" for at least a year now. But maybe I'm a delusional compulsive shopper.

I started wearing maternity tops around 15 weeks or so. I don't have a lot of super baggy regular clothes, and as some other people mentioned, my boobs also got a lot bigger really quickly, so I didn't want to stretch out my regular clothes. Pants on the other hand, I didn't switch to until about 19 weeks, just used the hair-tie trick until then. I say switch as soon as you are comfortable showing off the bump! Maternity clothes are just soooo much more comfortable, even the form-fitting ones, because they grow with your bump and never feel too tight!
