LO is 8.5 months and still won't sit still for book reading. Instead, he will try to grab the book and chew it, and play with the book. I have a hard time finishing board books with him, and of course, we can forget non-board books that he would destroy if given the opportunity. I admit, I wasn't the best about reading to him earlier on because of this, but when will he get it, I wonder!

At around a year he started enjoying reading time before bed, and at 14 months he started picking books to page through and "read" to himself or bringing us books to read to him.

We have been reading to Ds since my pregnancy, we continued and he has always been able to sit still during reading time. However flash cards are a different story. They immediately go into his mouth.

Lo is 20 months and we still can't always get through a book. She likes to turn the pages and she goes too fast. Or she doesn't want to read, just point and have me tell her what things are.

We started reading to DD from around 3 months and she loved storytime. I think around 8 months she was able to sit still and help me flip pages. She started flipping pages to "read" on her own around 11 months and chases us down to read. I love that she loves to read since I love to read too (but haven't had time to for too long =\).

I always pictured myself reading to LO nightly but now she is 10 months and I honestly probably only "read" to her weekly. She never sits still for it. And by bedtime she's so grumpy and fussy that it just doesn't work. I hope one day she'll start calming down and enjoying it a little more.
