When did your LO stop sleeping in a pack and play (or similar) for travel? What did you do at that point- big bed, toddler air mattress, cosleep...? How was the adjustment?

the last time we used her PNP was when she was like 22 months old. Now at almost 28 months old I don't think she would sleep in it, we just make a bed on the floor out of blankets or she sleeps with one of us in a hotel bed (that's what we did last time when she was 26 months old.)

@LuLu Mom: did she transition ok to the blanket bed or sharing a bed? I'm afraid of the first time we try it and she freaks out. She's 18 months and kind of short now but just wondering how long we have!

M is 28 months and she still sleeps in a PNP when we go to my parents' house. I think we'll use it until she transitions to a bed at home (which I'm putting off as long as possible )

She slept in her pack n play in our bedroom until almost 6 months. Then at Christmas she slept in it at my parents house (7.5 mo) but seemed really uncomfortable with how small it is compared to her crib and didn't sleep well. So I think we are pretty much done with the PnP except for emergencies. My mom got a cheap crib to put at her house for when we visit.

She still uses it for travel at almost 29 months. She's pretty long but she's never complained!

@Foodnerd81: The older kids at daycare do floor beds, so that was fine (she actually does this at home too) and she crawls into bed with us in the middle of the night frequently so neither were "new" concepts to her. We prefer the floor bed only because she's a bed hog and kicker HA

The last time she used it she was like, 26 months. The only time we have traveled since then was to my mom's and she slept on a trundle bed.

We switched to a toddler airbed at about 33 months (our spring beach vacation). She's tall and not a climber. FWIW, we also moved her from crib to toddler bed at 27 months. Now at nearly 3.5 years she's in a full size bed, I'm not sure when we will have our next hotel stay but we will likely use the toddler air bed for another year or so.
I'm hesitant to let LO sleep on the floor (even if there are blankets below her) as she has seasonal type allergies and hotel floors are gross. Don't believe me? Walk in white socks on them next time you stay. I just don't think LO would stay on the blanket well and I don't want her nose that close to the floor.

@Foodnerd81: Last summer, he was almost 2.5, and we went camping and he discovered how to climb out of it, so that was the last time. Now we cosleep (or no sleep) usually. He is still in a crib at home and hasn't tried climbing out yet (he's almost 3). Our in laws have a crib that he will sleep in, too.

My 2.5 year old still sleeps in one. We tried a toddler bed at my in laws at Christmas but she hated it. She's small though, so she still has plenty of room, and sleeps in a small-ish crib at home.

We just bought a 'tot cot' for travel. Haven't used it yet. (J's 3 and I don't think he'd use a PnP)

C is 30 months and slept in a PnP at grandma's house 2 weeks ago. She is relatively tall for her age (90%ile, I think?), and has never tried to climb out of her crib. She still sleeps in her crib at home.
The next trip we're taking will be in March, and she'll be 33 months old... I'm curious if she'll tolerate the PnP at that point, or if we'll just have to take one of the mattresses off the bed and put it on the floor (we'll be renting a condo timeshare).
