We're taking DD to the Nutcracker this year, she'll be 3 years 8 months. It's a shortened version for children, though. Her classmate went to the same performance last year when she had just turned 3. Our area has other Nutcracker performances that are geared toward young children and only 45 mins long. I would definitely consider taking a 2-year-old to something that short.

I think it depends. Like... Disney on Ice? Probably like age 2-3? I would say, for the most part, probably 4 at the earliest.

I do theatre. Im in a show right now that goes up in a couple weeks. I can say that a there is nothing that breaks your concentration like a screaming child in the audience (besides maybe a cell phone. Turn that shit off!). If you're confident that your kid can sit through it, let them. If you think there is any chance they will have a meltdown, please dont. In a large venue like an arena, I wouldnt think this would be a huge deal though. Im talking more like a small theater.

The first thing we took her to was YGG Live at 18 months and she was fine. For the Nutcracker, she was 3.5 and loved it! She's always had a good attention span and has been able to sit through all the shows I've taken her to.

I think it really depends on the kid. My son is almost 4 and is a huge scaredy cat. He can't even watch films like Cars or Toy Story without freaking out after 10 minutes, so at this rate, probably not until he's 6 or 7?

at this rate, i'm thinking when LO is 18.
