I just got mine checked today. The drops they put in your eyes to dilate your pupils are making me so whacked out. Lights are blinding me, I can't read anything...My optometrist said that this is what it will feel like when I'm an "old haggard lady". Um, thanks.
Oh, my eyes got worse. -6.75 on my left and -4.75 on my right.

Whoa!! I get mine checked every year because they won't sell me contacts unless i have an up-to-date prescription. My eyesight actually got better between years! Went from -4 & -3.75 to -3.75 and -3.5.

A couple of months ago. I have to do it every year to keep my contact prescription up to date. I had some eye issues right after we got married, so the eye dilation is important to make sure that everything's okay.

I just had the last of my post LASIK checkups a few weeks ago, so now I just have to have my yearly eye exam, so it'll be while til my next one! I used to just go to whatever doctor was at the nearest Lenscrafters, but now I go to an eye practice in a medical building and my eye doctor is the sweetest little lady and we just talk candidly about our kids, etc. Makes the annoying appointments bearable!!

Just a couple weeks ago, but my eyes haven't changed much in the last 4 years. Not sure what my prescription is though. I definitely need glasses.
My office doesn't do the drops though (as far as I know). They have this machine that takes amazing pictures of your eyes and allows them to analyze them and stuff. Supposedly they will be able to detect diabetes and other diseases by analyzing the photos from this machine.

I get mine checked every 6m to a year. Mine got sliiiightly worse after having DS. I'm -10.5 in the L and -11 in the right. Bad.

@Adira: Mine too! I love the hi-res images. I think a lot more offices are putting these in. There are diseases and problems they can detect from looking at your eyes, but they are mostly discovered by looking at changes over time. This way they can compare the images from your last visit with the current images and see if there's a problem. Love it.

I never had my eyes checked 
as an adult outside of school, that is. I know that's bad. I meant to go this summer, but I got pregnant and I know your eyes change during pregnancy, so I thought I'd wait until next summer.

@Adira: I got that picture last time too! I thought it was so cool, I showed my coworker and she went in too. They found a possible precursor to a melanoma. From looking in your eye! Now, they can watch it and if it turns into something, they can nip it in the bud.

@mrs. tictactoe: I asked my eye doctor about this. She's a specialist in the field and does teaching on Fridays, so I think she's generally correct. She said that they change a little, but not much during pregnancy. The two times I've been checked since LO, my vision's on par with what it was before I became pregnant.

@mrs. tictactoe: me either - couldn't tell you when I last went. When I took DS he told me that even though I didn't have vision problems I should get them checked once a year.
I think I will go when I am 40 (next year)

I went several times in the last year, just because I have blepharitis and was getting recurrent styes and chalazions, and they always do a vision check when I'm there.
Still 20/20 at age 34, but I'm wondering when eyesight starts to degenerate...
