Last time I was measure I went to Aerie and she measured me a 34D. I tried some bras on and they seems ok, good as it gets, I though. My bras fit ok, though they do get uncomfortable. Well I just measured myself and I think I may be a 32DD instead. I'd like to go get measured again to make sure but I'm but sure where to go.

@regberadaisy: @MarieJ: VS always measures me above my bust, then my bust. No under the bust. Makes no sense and comes out waaay wrong. Not sure why it's done that way.

I second Nordstrom. Also, depending on where you live, there might be a lingerie boutique and likely that is your very best bet.

I went to an intimate apparel boutique (The Petticoat Fair in Austin). They specialize in fitting (including post mastectomy fitting)! I've never been fitted correctly at VS so I stopped going to them for it.
Maybe find somewhere local.... You should be able to get some info from your local wedding dress boutiques (that's where we found out about Petticoat Fair).

@Koolbreeze: Awww, too bad. Any specialty lingerie stores? I find they do a great job with measuring as well but are a little harder to find.

Nordstrom, saks, or a specialty bra store! I would not go to vs, they're measured me incorrectly multiple times.

@MrsKoala: Seriously! We went for my large chested friend for my wedding & she is SOOO glad we did bc she had never been fitted correctly & since they specialized in that she was able to find pretty bras in her size!

I worked for VS. Measuring there is very hit or miss. You have to get someone who knows what they are doing, and those people are few and far between.
I've heard good things about Nordstrom, or I'd just go to a specialty store.

Is there an Intimacy near you? They do really good measurements and have a good selection of hard to find sizes. Most places will tell you they are something the carry- so VS will say 34D since they don't carry 32DD.

It's too bad you don't have a nordstrom - they always do the best job sizing me! I would try a department store (macys?) or a lingerie shop.
I agree with a lot of PP that Victoria's secret is not a good option. Their bras are sized oddly and they always size me in a way to fit their bras, not my actual size. Last time they told me I was a 36C and I was really a 34DD or DDD.

@Foodnerd81: Yeah, now that I think about it its SO hard to find a 32DD (I actually have looked for that size before even measuring myself) so I'm sure they tell me the closest size they have.

I was recently fitted at VS and bought a couple of bras and I hate them. My straps keep falling off my shoulders and they are not comfortable! I'm heading to Nordstrom's for my next purchase.

Definitely shows the differences. I learned about sister sizes and that's what got me thinking about it. 34D and 32DD are sister sizes and I'm pretty sure I need the 32. The cups seem to fit and if I just pull the band tigher in the back my front instantly looks better so I definitely think I need a tighter band.

@Koolbreeze: The band is super important as that's where the support comes from! I learned this when I went down to a 32 from a 34. Suddenly, I didn't need to pull my straps up all the time and no more jiggling.

@MrsKoala: JIGGLE. I have major jiggle. I definitely think I need a 32. Seriously, just pulling the band tight in the back, locked my girls down and there was no gaps or anything. I need to go bra shopping asap.

@Koolbreeze: sorry, just saw that you don't have one. I second the.specialty store, then. Expensive, but it is the best $70 investment I've *ever* made. I was wearing 38DD but am really 34 H. huge, huge difference! Getting a tighter band made me look like I lost 10 pounds.

@LovelyPlum: I just googled and there is a Nordstrom about 30 minutes from me! I had no idea. If I can't find somewhere closer I definitely think it would be worth a 30 minute drive! I don't mind paying more for a good bra. Totally worth it!
