@birdofafeather: same! 80% TJ 15% Costco. Our 5% are target, shoprite and Whole Foods.

I do most of my shopping at Aldi and stop at Giant on my way home for anything I couldn't find. Giant is right by our house, so that's where we go for quick things, but it adds up if we buy everything there. We also go to a shoprite if they have enough sale stuff to make it worth the trip.

I shop sales at Aldi and meal plan around what's available there and in season for the most part.

I do weekly shopping at Hannaford's (a regional chain). It's a little further from my house but I like the selection and prices. Shaw's is right around the corner but I don't like the meat selection and I actually think the prices are higher so really only stop there if I need a few items.

Occasionally will stop by Whole Foods for a special occasion (they have great meat and fish, but so $$$). Same w/ Trader Joes - occasional and for something specific. Prices aren't bad at TJ, but it's further from me and I can't get everything I need there and don't love their produce.

Grocery runs are a great excuse for getting out of the house regularly with my toddler, so we shop at lots of places.

I get meat and fish at Whole Foods.
I get frozen foods and a few favorites at Trader Joe's.
We make quick trips to Publix for last minute items (just 2 minutes away).
We pick up a few things at Target, stuff that is routinely cheaper there.
We get both paper products and large quantities of organic fruits at Costco.

I don't plan shopping trips around sales, but I do check the papers when we get to the store and stock up if any of our regular buys are on sale.

Mariano's, Aldi, Trader Joe's, Fresh Market, and Costco. Not all in one week but I get specific things at each of them.

Grocery shopping in NYC sucks but it's been getting better over the years as certain neighborhoods are getting bigger newer stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Fairway) but none of them are walking distance for me. Plus you have to get big orders delivered anyway (carrying sucks).
I do about 80% of my grocery shopping online through FreshDirect (milk, bread, snacks, dry goods, meat, frozen foods, etc).
Produce and some special items I usually get at either Whole Foods (it's not very close but I pay for delivery) or a little market near us.
If I run out of something between bigger orders (usually milk), we have 2 grocery stores (Dagostinos and Morton Williams) within a couple blocks that I'll run to. I just don't like them normally.

I pick my grocery stores based on who has 2 seats in the cart. I have a 3.5 y/o, 2 y/o and 2 month old so I need to make it as convenient as possible. That means costco and superstore for me

Mostly Costco for organic meats + veggies and then whatever we can't buy in bulk or not sold there, we go to a local grocer. I'm trying to re-incorporate Paleo into our diet (again!) so I head to Whole Foods sometimes for things I can find at either.

About 70% at this amazing local grocery store (it's affiliated with a regional chain but totally independent and stocks lots of local produce, meat, seafood and other items). 15% at farmers market, local farms and local farmland. Remaining 15% divided between regional grocery chain, BJ's, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods etc.

I don't shop at Walmart and pretty much only buy 1 food item at Target - these mini popsicles my daughter loves which I can't find anywhere else lol

I would say 70% Aldi, 20% Publix (although this varies from week to week). I supplement with TJ's and Target.

I dropped $100 at TJ's today on "extras". Ugh! I only go there like once every 6-8 weeks, though, and it's almost all frozen stuff. And wine!
