I'm getting freaked out by the bad reviews of both clearblue and first response. I'd like to test this week (when I'll be 12 dpo). I know that's early but it's the day of a special event and I'd love to know then if I am pregnant. If youve bought a test recently, which did you choose???

After our first, which was the line kind - not exactly clearest - we went with ClearBlue. No other reason other than it was digital. No guess work!

I myself haven't tried them yet I plan to test next week but I have friends who used just the hcg sticks. The ones that are super cheap. Do you know what I mean?

I don't like digitals. I've gotten a negative the day after a positive in a pregnancy that did have rising numbers so I don't trust them at all. I always preferred FRER for official results (Babi was my early cheapie tested brand), but I'm hearing more negative about them since they changed so now I'm not sure.

I think by 12dpo it should be pretty easy to test on anything. Honestly some of the best are dollar store cheapies!

I've always used a combo of FRER and wondfo (the cheap kind you can get at Amazon). By 12 dpo, I've always been able to see a line on both. Good luck!

@snowjewelz: I'm only 8 dpo today if my calculations were correct! I didn't use opks this cycle. I ordered the tests and they arrive tomorrow night...
I think I may test on Wednesday AM (10 dpo) and then, if it's negative, again on Friday AM (12 dpo). Eeeeek!!

I got an extremely faint positive when I tested at 12 dpo (4 days before my period was due) with a First Response Early Result but it was definitely there! I also tested with a dollar store cheapie but those were negative up until the day my period was due. Best of luck to you!!

@tessafae: ahh! Thanks for sharing! We tried for about 6 months with LO1 and I forgot how exciting the wait is. We've got some weddings coming up this month so if I'm not pregnant at least I'll get to party!

@babybean404: I used cheapies from the internet and 2 FRER's and 1 clear blue digital.
I had
on cheapies starting at 9DPO, on FRER when I took it at 11DPO and on a clear blue at 13DPO.
