@avivoca: where are you planning on wearing them? Shoveled areas only? Playing in snow with your LO?

You might need something taller - although those are super cute!

DH laughs at me but they keep my feet super warm and are great for playing in the deep in snow with the kids!

I have these in black and took them up to Whistler, Canada for a snowboarding trip then to Seattle, WA. Trekked through tons of water and snow and they've held up well! They're waterproof and keep my feet very warm. I like they're a bit taller so if I step in deeper snow, I'm not worried about getting my pants wet.

Sorels! Winterproof and warm. Excellent quality. I bought mine 2 winters ago and they still have a ton of life left, I expect them to last many more years.

My north face boots have held up and are super warm...they are water resistant though which I don't think is the same as water proof? But I've had them for 6 years. I think they were around $120 on sale.

I also have a pair of Keen boots with phenomenal traction - it's completely waterproof, and although they're not heavily insulated they have a thick membrane inside that keeps my feet surprisingly warm. They were within that price range, but I've had them for about 5 years and they still look brand new!

Ugg Adirondacks are my absolute favorite winter boots. They are waterproof on the bottom and so so warm (but they do have suede on the uppers, so I don't wear them while shoveling). I have had mine for 3 winters and they are still going strong. I have a 1.5 mile each way walking commute so I am impressed that they have held up.

I have Sorels as well (Tivoli high), which I use for shoveling, but they do not keep my toes warm enough to wear for long periods of time.
