Would you give the movie Hocus Pocus as a party favor at your 5 year old's witches-themed birthday party?

For one, we don't have a DVD player anymore and neither do a bunch of our friends, but more so because most people want more control over what their kids see and while it's PG I don't know that it would automatically be appropriate for all 5 year olds.

Haha, no - my father-in-law has a funny story about how my husband saw this movie at 8 and asked what a virgin was and if witches were going to come for him, which initiated a really awkward sex talk.

@raspberries: LOL! That right there if a really great reason not to give it out! Well, unless you want to get out of hiding future playdate .

No, that's a weird favor. And it's on cable all the time around Halloween.

I love that movie but I don't really think it's appropriate for smaller kids (plus I wouldn't want to assume that other parents would allow their kid to watch it!!).

my kids loved it at age five. But my kids don't get scared easily and like movies that have some intensity. That being said I would not give it as a party favor. There are some parts that some parents might find objectionable like the virgin lighting the candle. Since it is not my place to decide what other families watch I wouldn't give it as a party favor

Too scary and also, who does like a whole DVD as a party favor...?
