Yes! We rented a studio apartment in Paris for a week right near the Louvre. It was awesome!

@Foodnerd81: We went to Bali too and loved it! I wish we had spent more time in that area of the world, so maybe Bali and somewhere else. That said, I'd just like to explore Southeast Asia some more.

Yes! We are planning on it for our 5 or 10 year anniversary!

For sure! I mean, I'd like to go explore new places together, but our honeymoon was at this awesome all-inclusive resort in Mexico so it was super relaxing!

Would love to! We went on an Alaskan cruise and it was awesome! I probably would just fly directly to Alaska for a repeat though and be able to go inland a little more (versus a direct repeat - I like to do new things)! Alaska is absolutely beautiful though!

Half a month of tropical beaches, sightseeing, and amazing food? In a heartbeat.
pomegranate / 3244 posts
Probably not. Our "honeymoon" was house-sitting for friends in Fort Collins, CO. It was fun (and cheap) but it doesn't need to be repeated or anything. I'd rather do a fun big trip for our 10th anniversary! A more typical honeymoon-type trip!!
pomelo / 5720 posts
Absolutely! We went camping in Acadia National Park right after our wedding then took a two week trip to Maui a few months later. We would love to do both of those trips again!
grapefruit / 4442 posts
Yes, we went snowboarding in Whistler for our honeymoon. Only thing I would ask is for mother nature to have more snow that year.

@MediaNaranja: ha! That's where I live!
Yes! I LOVED our honeymoon. We went to Hawaii (big island) and I'd love to go back there or to the other islands!
persimmon / 1404 posts
Absolutely! We went to Maui and everything about it was amazing. I can't wait to go back! I love Hawaii though and we try to go there once a year.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
We went to Maui and Oahu and would probably go back to Hawaii, except to Kauai and the Big Island.
papaya / 10473 posts
We spent a week in Aruba, and I'd go back in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd happily move there!!

Yes, definitely. We we to Secrets Maroma Beach (south of Cancun) and it was an amazing trip.

Mexico during hurricane season on a college students budget. I'll pass It was awesome at the time, we went on a trip to the grocery store and made a lot of our own food. It was our first big vacation together. So while I love the memories, I would not want to relive it.
nectarine / 2173 posts
Yes, but as a family. We went to the Galápagos Islands and would live to bring future kiddos there someday!

@HLK208: Did you post about it on Weddingbee? I remember someone having an awful time in DR with tons of poverty and dead dogs in the street. Because of that I told DH that DR wasn't an option, lol.
I would totally do over half of our honeymoon. The first half we went to Barbados and stayed in a boutique hotel which we loved. It was really small, had this gorgeous rooftop pool and a rooftop restaurant, both overlooking the ocean. The food was amazing local stuff, incredibly fresh. We went on a fantastic catamaran day trip on a gorgeous boat and explored the island in a rental car while we were there. It was peaceful and romantic and beautiful. I would go back in a heartbeat.
The 2nd half we went to Sandals in St. Lucia and we really didn't like it. It felt like spring break, not a romantic honeymoon. The place was loud everywhere. Certain places you could stand and hear 3 different types of music coming from 3 different directions. The food was very meh (think cruise food), there were so many people around. Poolside chairs and beach side cabanas had to be reserved and you could pretty much only have them once. The day trip to see the island was just worlds different from what we experienced on Barbados. It was so touristy - people selling stuff would camp out all along the routes where the tours stopped. And the catamaran we took back was packed with so many people we could barely sit down.
If I could redo it I would just spend more time in Barbados and skip St. Lucia.

I would but DH would be hesitant. We went to Rivera Maya and his stomach is much more sensitive than mine and spent some of our trip in the bathroom. It was a great resort for a great price. We loved the excursions we picked.
pineapple / 12234 posts
@ShootingStar: Lol - I did! If I had read trip advisor beforehand, I wouldn't have gone!
pomelo / 5132 posts
We loved it, but I see no reason to go to St. Lucia again. We are planning a trip to Spain for our 10 year anniversary (I studied there for a semester too! @mr. bee: @mrs. highheels:)
grapefruit / 4120 posts
Love Barcelona... I studied abroad for a year there when I was in high school. Those were the days!!
I would totally do our honeymoon over again. Hope we can someday. We went to Lisbon, Seville and a day trip to Morocco. Haven't made any trips to Europe (or even contemplated one) since then!
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
Nope! We took a cruise which was fun and I'd do again but I wouldn't go back to the places we went to. We were SO excited to go to Jamaica, and the part we went to was disgusting and I kept waiting for us to end up in some action movie scene where we got kidnapped!
persimmon / 1328 posts
Oh god I would love to, we spent 2.5 weeks in the Maldives, it was literally paradise. However it was so ridiculously expensive that I can't see us being able to afford that sort of holiday ever again!
honeydew / 7091 posts
Well, it was a great trip and we had SO much fun, and it was amazing! Buuut, I'd rather go somewhere new and experience something different.
So, I wouldn't mind going there again (Isla Mujeres), but I'd *rather* do something new
pomelo / 5257 posts
Definitely! We went to Kauai and it was amazing. We were there for 12 days, but it still didn't feel like enough. There's just so much to explore. We've talked about going again someday, maybe with our kids in tow
eggplant / 11287 posts
Yes, but we would take the kids.
We went to the Hard Rock in the DR. We had an incredible time! There's a whole kids pool and spray park too, and stuff lile kids mini golf. I know the girls would have a blast!
The weather was amazing when we went, and we spent a whole day snorkeling around a small private island. It was perfect!
honeydew / 7504 posts
No. And it has nothing to do with the Cat 2 hurricane that parked on the island for 24+ hours right in the middle of our honeymoon. I just really didn't like St. Lucia all that much. I'd rather go to another island.
grapefruit / 4671 posts
Yes, God yes. We went to Thailand for 3 weeks and split our time between Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Khao Lak. We would love to go again for our 5th anniversary and maybe add on some other country in SE Asia although we would probably skip Khao Lak as it was boring compared to the other places.

@mrbee: We went to Barcelona, too! We absolutely LOVED it. We didn't even have much time to plan in advance, but we found some amazing things to do and great places to eat. I would absolutely, absolutely do it again!

In a heartbeat! We went to Banff over Christmas, stayed in a castle and had the most magical white Christmas ever; sleigh rides in the snow, tubing, husky sled rides, drinks from a nice bar, floating in an outdoor pool in the snow.....So good!
nectarine / 2054 posts
Definitely, we went to Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and Rome. I'm looking forward to taking DS to all those places.
clementine / 927 posts
In a heartbeat! We went to Venice, Rome and Sorrento. I would skip Rome though.
nectarine / 2028 posts
@mrbee: Sadly, no. We've discussed that we wish we'd gone somewhere else. We went to Tahiti, and it just wasn't the right type of trip for us at that time. Of course it was beautiful and relaxing....but it was also REALLY expensive, and we spent a lot of time feeling guilty about how much it was all costing. We also went immediately after our wedding to maximize my husband's time he could take off work, and we were honestly so exhausted from the whole process that I'm sure that impacted it! Tahiti is also a truly "sit and relax" type of trip, and we tend to really enjoy our vacations more when we're active. We definitely should have taken a few months between wedding and honeymoon and gone to Europe, and we have a little regret over that. However, I guess I'm glad we went because now we "know" that those trips to paradise that so many love just aren't our cup of tea, as silly as that sounds!
nectarine / 2028 posts
@jhd: That sounds like the type of trip my hubby and I should have taken! Totally more up our alley than a beach vacay. Sounds like it was a blast!
coconut / 8079 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: I like the exploring active type vacations when we travel far away. I sometimes wear DH out wanting to walk everywhere and see stuff but we make good memories!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
We actually had a belated honeymoon this summer to Maui because we are both teachers and married in November 2013. DH tore his ACL right before we left and he was on crutches the whole time + I was having morning sickness. "Luckily" I didn't start to miscarry until I was home for a couple days.
DH promised to take me again on our ten year anniversary.

@travelgirl1: I just had to look up Banff after reading your post (California girl here.) Oh my gosh. I want to go to there.
nectarine / 2834 posts
@travelgirl1: that sounds totally amazing.
Ours was okay. A week on the beach in st Lucia which was perfect for us at the time.
honeydew / 7589 posts
Yes, but it would need to be longer. Our "honeymoon" was a 2-day layover in Budapest on our way to a job posting. I'd love to spend a longer vacation there.
I'd much prefer going someone else though, like Cambodia or Abu Dhabi.
