Has anyone hosted or been to a build a bear party? Are they fun for both boys and girls? LO turns 6 this year and we are starting to plan towards a party. I feel like I have been to so many jumping parties and bowling parties and I would like to do something different. She has had a jumping party for a previous birthday. I have thought about having it at home since we have a big enough back yard but its a new home and I really don't want to deal with cleaning up
If you have other suggestions of good party options for a 6 year old please let me know!

@Mrsbells: Yes, my son would love it. He's 7 now, but he has been wanting to do build a bear since he was 5!
The only thing is that he's very specific, he wouldn't want a bear, he wanted a minion. Not sure what you can do about offering different options?

@Mrsbells: We did! It was great. I think at 6 it would be even better. We had boys and girls and they all had fun. And we didn't have to worry about favors because the bears were their favors. We did the option where the kids could pick whichever stuffed animal they wanted. It was more expensive but I worried about kids being upset about not getting the one they want. Also, not sure if you have a Costco membership, but they sell discounted BaB gift cards. Right now they have $100 in gift cards for $69.99. I bought a bunch of gift cards and that's how I paid for the party.
ETA: Also, you can book it online and they have the pricing/packages there as well.

@Mrsbells: Ours is at a mall, and they don't do private parties where they shut the store down, so we did ours at 10am on a Saturday (right when they open) and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Afterwards we had chick-fil-a nugget trays, chips, and cake in the food court. We got to the food court early and decorated before the party started.

My daughter is almost 4 and she'd LOVE a BaB party. Maybe next year.

My daughter (turning six this summer) would love it! I will say, though, that I took my 3.5 and 5.5 year old girls just before chirstmas with four friends, and it was a much FASTER experience than I expected. There was no lingering over choices, admiring outfits, etc. - they chose really fast, made their animals, and were finished.

Thanks everyone I am so happy I posted about this. I called to double check that my local build a bear accepts the egiftcards from costco and then I went ahead and bought them! I got $300 worth of giftcards for $210. Thats such a great savings! I would have never thought to check costco!
