So this link is semi inspirational. It's 13 things mentally strong people don't do. I think going through IF makes us all mentally strong. I'm still amazed at how sane I am after doing all of this waiting. Not sure that this is the right place to tell this story so just let me know...
While I struggled to get pregnant we decided that we'd buy things for our future baby anyway. Days after we met with the RE for the first time we found this very cool wire elephant that we wanted for our baby's nursery. When we went to purchase it the sales lady told us that in her culture an elephant with its trunk up is good luck. It was that month we finally became pregnant and we thought the elephant played a part. Fast forward about 18 months and the couple who struggled to get pregnant ends up with twins without trying. As I was joking about this elephant being our fertility good luck charm to a friend, she told me of her friend that had had two failed ivf tries and was about to go for a third. She asked if I might lend that friend the elephant from Jack's nursery while this friend underwent her month of ivf prep and procedure. So I said I couldn't guarantee it was truly lucky but I'd be happy to share it. Today I just got the message that this woman is pregnant and I am so happy. I'm not sure I can lend everyone my elephant but I hope this lends you all a bit of hope.
