What would you do if you saw someone post a video giving a 1 year old (at their first bday party!) multiple sips of beer (3 on camera alone) and laughing at their reaction (kid makes nasty face then reaches for bottle again so they give more...) I am really angry and disgusted but struggling with what to do...

I don't have kids, but while it's not something I would do ever, I don't think it warrants you saying anything. If they gave the baby a full beer in baby bottle - that would be different, but a few sips? I would just roll my eyes, silently judge, and let it go.

My parents did this with us but there was barely anything in the bottle... I'd just let it go personally!

@SLR: no it was a glass bottl definitely full. The way they were forcing it was just disturbing . Like they weren't even being careful to ensure it was a teeny taste !

I'd ignore it. I have triplet nieces who always would grab sips of their parents beer at that age. But filming it and posting isn't very bright.

Wow, that's sick. Honestly, I would probably delete or unfollow them if it was on social media. Otherwise I would ignore it. I hate seeing bad parenting but it's not my place to say something unless the child is in danger. 2-3 sips, gross and disturbing but not enough to cause harm.

That's reallt weird and irresponsible. People are so stupid about what they post online. I'd probably ignore it or un friend them if they weren't close. If it was someone I knew well, I'd probably warn them they shouldn't post things like that online.

I don't know if I would "ignore" per say, but what can you really do? I don't think it warrants calling CPS, but it is gross and I probably wouldn't want to be friends with them anymore.

I mean, it's a stupid thing to do, but what can you really do? You can comment on the video, which probably won't make a difference to them. You can call CPS, but would they do anything? And is this something you feel strongly enough about to put a family through an investigation?
I think that's why most people are saying they'd ignore it. It's stupid on their part, but it's not something I would feel comfortable putting a family through a legal ordeal over.

Full disclosure; my kid loves to teeth on beer bottles, and we have pictures of that, but we don't post them/let him drink!
A bunch of news articles came out about this study recently: http://www.jsad.com/page/news/mar2015 You could share it on your newsfeed and hope they notice! Maybe just find a CNN article or something instead of the journal article.

@jedeve: Same here, if we have a bottle then they're going to stick their mouths on it and try to bite. I bet I have even have a picture somewhere, but we wouldn't let them drink it.
